Zero’s POV…

When I entered my room, I smiled to myself. My lips were still tingling from the kiss with____. I was content with everything, and for now, I could push aside the fact that us being together wasn’t safe.

I took a shower and got ready for bed. Today was tiring, as it usually is being on the disciplinary committee, so it didn’t take long for me to fall asleep . My last thought, before I drifted off, was ____.

Next Day…

I woke up and got ready to go to class . I decided that I would walk ____ to class again, and maybe even kiss her again. The thought made me smile; however, when I arrived at ____’s door, there was no answer . I knocked again, still no answer . I turned the knob on her door and entered her room to find that it was empty.

“____,” I called, trying my luck. Just then, another scent hit me. It was the scent of a Pureblood vampire.

My heart jumped into my throat at that and I started searching ____'s room frantically, Bloody Rose drawn. I knew that the pureblood who'd come in was gone, but there was still the possibility that my...girlfriend could still be around. However, as anticipated, she was not there, though her scent was faint in the room which let me know that she'd been taken not too soon after I'd left.

I felt upset with myself. How hadn't I sensed a freaking pureblood vampire hiding inside of ____'s bedroom when I'd been standing right there?! The bastard must have been masking his scent until I left, I mused. Even so, what would a random vampire want with her? A pureblood no less?

Whatever the reason, the bloodsucker wasn't about to get away with stealing someone precious to me.

I headed to the headmaster’s office in a full sprint to tell him about what I had just found out. Upon entering , however, I saw Kuran and Master Yagari already there. “Zero...” whispered Cross in a solemn voice.

“If everyone’s here, then you all must know what happened . ____ was taken wasn’t she?” I asked, anger beginning to boil inside of me.

“Yes,” answered Cross. "Also, the vampire appears to be a Pureblood.”

“The amusing thing is that this vampire didn’t even try to mask his scent. He just took ____ and left all kinds of clues to point out his identity and location . I don’t know if it’s a trap or if this guy is really that stupid,” said Master who was barely suppressing a grin.

“The kidnapping was not well planned out. I don’t think that this vampire has set a trap for us. Being an amateur, he’s likely to still be hiding out in the spot that he presumes to be safe,” Kuran added.

“Kaname's right,” Cross said. “It won't be difficult to track this person down, but it will take a few hours at most. Until then, everyone go about the day normally. We don't want to cause an uproar among the day class or the night class ." With that, everyone split up. I didn't want to go to class though, so instead I headed towards the stables.

Once arriving at my destination, I picked up a brush used for brushing horses' manes on my way into White Lily's stable. As she game into view, her head snapped up, ready to threaten any intruder who dared come into her space. Upon seeing me though, she noticeably became less hostile and more friendly.

I smiled at Lily, amused by how she'd reacted. For whatever reason, I was the only person she was kind to and allowed to touch, ride, and feed her without being given a hard time. Admittedly, it was a pleasant feeling to know that I was liked, horse or no.

"Miss me?" I asked the horse, a small smile on my face as I brushed her white, long and beautiful mane. I didn't expect an actual answer of course, but strangely enough, I found it comforting to speak to Lily. I could tell her anything and not worry about it being repeated, especially when I talked with her about my life as a...a vampire.

Right now though, the only thing, the only person on my mind was ____.

Of course, I was worried about her well-being, but I couldn't help but wonder from which angle that was. Even though she and I were dating, there was still the question of whether or not I loved her. After all, I had spent the majority of my life thinking that I had romantic feelings towards Yuki, so to suddenly start thinking of someone else in that way...

When ____ and I kissed, I definitely felt something beyond pure lust and adolescent hormones. My heart would pound and as I held her, the world would fade away. All of the problems that constantly nagged at me would become silent, and I could think of nothing else, no one else but her. Just the mere thought of something happening to her made me want to embrace her and never let her go.

Maybe it was love...?

At around midnight, the four of us arrived at a broken down house. The gate in the front was hanging off of its hinges and the windows were boarded up. “This looks like the place,” Yagari remarked.

“It does look the part,” agreed Cross.

I didn’t care what it looked like, I just wanted to save ____. Suddenly, a scream wrung out, sending us all running into action. Yagari kicked the thick, wooden door open and we all scattered inside. Seconds later, the scent of blood hit our noses. It was ____’s blood.
I rushed ahead of everyone and ran down the long corridors, hoping and praying , to whoever was listening, that I would get there to save her in time.

I finally arrived at the door that she was being held captive in and kicked it in. Quickly running down the few steps to the attic, I saw ____ chained to a wall with her hands bound behind her back. To the side of her was a blond haired vampire with hazel eyes. He looked about my age, but you couldn’t really know for sure with vampires.

He looked shocked because of the sudden entrance, but I my attention was on the whip in his hand. It had ____’s blood on it.

Immediately, I whipped out Bloody Rose and aimed it at the pureblood bastard’s head. I was about to pull the trigger when Kaname stopped me. “Don’t Zero, we need to ask him a few questions,” he said. I frowned and glared daggers before I put the gun away.

Kaname seemed pleased. He turned to face the blond guy and started asking him questions. “Why did you kidnap ____?”

The guy smiled, slowly turning as he stood to face Kaname. “Oh, that was an honest mistake. I meant to kidnap the Cross girl, but as you can see, the description of her wasn’t quite correct.” I snorted. Was this guy serious?

“Why were you after Yuki?” Kaname asked, eyes narrowing a bit.

The blond vampire smiled at his reaction before he spoke again. “I thought to use her as bait in order to lure you here, but it seems that that wasn’t necessary.”

Suddenly, the guy reached behind himself and grabbed a sword, pulling it out of his sheath. It looked like ____’s. A moment later, the sword proved who it belonged to when an electric charge shocked the vampire's hand. Only hunter made weapons caused that sort of reaction when held by creatures of the night.

The blond idiot cried out in pain, but ran towards Kaname with the blade pointing at him, anyway. Poor fool didn’t even make it within five feet of his target before he was thrown against the wall to the left side of the room. I stopped paying attention after that. Now that blondy was out of the way, I could get to ____. I kneeled before and called her name. She didn’t look up. I called her again, this time tilting her chin up.

She had her eyes closed tight.

“Look at me,” I whispered, tender concern in my voice. Something was wrong, ____’s aura seemed different.

She shook her head, tears sliding down her cheeks. “Please...” I whispered, my tone even more gentle than before. For a moment, ____ just kept her eyes closed, but slowly she started to open them. When she fully opened her eyes, I saw that they were crimson, the color signalling bloodlust.

I froze.

Your P.O.V…

You saw Zero’s face change from one of concern to shock. “Zero...,” you croaked, tears running down your cheeks.

“____, are you a…” He didn’t finish the sentence, but you knew what he was asking.

“Yes,” you answered, swallowing thickly. Zero’s facial expression changed to one of sadness.

In that moment, you wanted to hold him, but your arms were still bound behind your back. “Zero…”you whispered again, trying to get his attention. He looked at you sadly and cupped your cheek with his hand. A tear landed on his palm.

“I’ll be fine, okay?” you reassured, but he continued to look at you sadly. “I’ll get you out of the chains.”

Removing his hand from your cheek, he walked behind you. You dropped your gaze back to the ground, allowing the tears you could no longer hold back to fall.

When you had been bitten by Dimitri, you couldn’t believe that you were really a vampire, but looking into Zero’s anguished eyes, you knew that this was all real. The only good thing about this was that you knew Zero didn’t hate you now. That lightened your mood a little, that is, until a giant wave of bloodlust came over you.

Right before you screamed in agony, your arms were released from their shackles. Immediately, you clutched yourself tightly, as if this would somehow make the pain stop.
Zero was at your side, quickly. “____” he said in a concerned voice. You could only gasp in pain, as a response. This was too much! The pain was absolutely unbearable. Is this really what Zero goes through? You wondered.

Another voice was heard, next to you. “Zero, let me take it from here” said the voice that you now recognized as Kaname’s.

“Don’t tell me you’re going to let her drink your blood” said Zero, obviously angered by this “no way.”

“Would you rather let her suffer?” asked Kaname in that same calm voice that he always used. Zero was silent. You understood that he didn’t want you to drink blood and be a vampire, but you knew that he also didn’t want you to suffer.

In the end, Zero acquiesced. As someone who suffered from the affects of bloodlust and had deep feelings for you, he didn’t want you to continue on in agony and nodded for Kaname to let you drink. Zero rose to walk far from the pureblood, knowing that the scent of the his sinfully delicious blood would overwhelm him if he remained too close up.

He stood on the other side of the wall and watched you with despair and grief in his features. Briefly, your eyes shifted to Dimitri who was knocked unconscious and tied up, before they went back to Zero.

“Please, don’t look,” you said, loud enough so that your beloved would hear. He nodded solemnly then turned around.

You took in a shaky breath, eyes shifting to Kaname’s neck. Momentarily, you were in a trance and in awe of the bare skin. It looked so vulnerable and unmarred, causing a predatory lust inside of you to present itself. You hooked your arms under Kaname’s shoulder blades and held tightly onto his shirt.

You moved in really close to his neck and ran your tongue over the soft and delicate pale, skin. You repeated this three times before your fangs extended and you sunk your fangs, deeply, into Kaname’s neck.

The delicious blood that poured into your mouth, nearly, drove you insane. It was complete and utter bliss. You drunk deeply and rapidly, trying to suck out as much of the wondrous blood that you could. After a while of drinking, your sanity began to return and you realized what you were doing.

With more effort than you liked, you pulled away from Kaname’s neck, licking the blood off of your lips and fangs. “Are you okay, now?” he asked, his bite wound already beginning to heal.

“Y-Yes," you stuttered, bangs covering your eyes and a blush painting your cheeks.

You couldn’t believe the feeling’s that you’d just had towards the pureblood. For a moment, you’d wanted to…no! you shouted inside you head. Those feelings came because of the bloodlust. Besides, you loved Zero.

Kaname helped you stand and you thanked him, walking over to Zero soon after. He turned to face you before pulling you into his embrace. You embraced him back, holding onto him tightly to reassure him that you were alright. You two eventually pulled away from another, however, when you realized that something still had to be done.

Walking over to Dimitri, you knelt down and moved towards his neck, making sure that you bit down harshly and painfully.

He groaned in pain as you drank his blood, draining him of every last drop that he had. This process was necessary, in order for a level D vampire to live longer and not turn into a Level E. Even after all that happened happened, you still couldn't help but feel slight pity towards the foolish vampire.

Dimitri turned to dust once the deed was done, and you wiped your lips clear of his blood, standing up from your crouching position in the process.

You could feel the power of Kaname’s blood and Dimitri’s pumping through your veins which made you tingle all over. “Are you alright?” asked Yagari, regarding you carefully. “Yes, I just feel…different” you whispered.

“Dimitri, the pureblood here, told Yagari and I that he wanted to kill Kaname for humiliating his family. He’d held a grudge with the Kuran clan for quite some time actually, which is what led him to do this,” said Cross, staring at you, sadly.

You nodded slowly, still in a bit of a daze from drinking so much pure blood in such a short time. “We should go, now. I don’t want to stay here any longer than I have to.”

That Night…

Cross invited you and Kaname to come to his in school home for dinner tonight, a late dinner though it may be. He'd explained that it would be best to tell Yuki about you becoming a vampire. You already knew how she would react. The girl would no doubt burst into tears and hug you tightly, promising to stay your friend no matter what. The thought made you smile.

Kaname knocked on the door to Cross’s home, receiving an immediate response. “Come in, come in,” said Cross cheerily, as he ushered the both us to your seats. You sat next to Zero.

“I’ve made my specialty tonight!” the headmaster exclaimed, looking all sorts of proud with himself.

“What exactly is his specialty?” you asked, whispering to your beloved.

“I really don’t know” he murmured, which sent a disturbed shiver down your spine. Cross was notorious for his weirdly cooked meals. You almost never knew what type of animal or vegetable was being served.

You looked to Yuki and saw a shaky smile on her face that was meant to make Kaien feel good , but looked wary and a little nervous. She seemed hesitant to see what her adoptive father had cooked. You laughed at her expression then thought about what you had to tell her, and your laughter ceased.

Zero, observant as ever, noticed your change in attitude and asked if you were alright. “I guess I’m a little nervous about telling her,” you whispered, so that said girl wouldn’t hear you.

“It’s okay, I’m here” said Zero squeezing your hand, lightly, in his. You smiled at him, warmth filling your heart at the thought that this incredible boy was all yours.

“I love you so much, Zero,” you admitted honestly, wanting to voice the happiness that you felt inside. He smiled too, leaning close and placing a slow and sweet kiss on your lips. You returned the kiss, loving the feel of his soft lips on yours and his sweet scent.

“____, Zero! Don’t that at the dinner table!” scolded Cross. You two immediately broke apart, blushing rosy pink. After apologizing to the headmaster, your eyes met and held, amused smiles on the both of your faces.

“I love you too,” said Zero, intertwining the both of your hands. Right then, as you looked into his beautiful amethyst eyes, you knew that he meant what he said.

The both of you would no doubt struggle dealing with what you have become, but you would have each other and that was enough. From this day forth, Zero and you would be together. You would fight for one another till the very end.

You love Zero Kiryu, that’s it. Even in death, your love for him would never fade because he was your one and only true love. That was a fact.
