This was a new location that I had recently scouted out. My first shoot here. Wasn't overly happy with the conditions (sunrise and surf), but not bad for a first attempt.I haven't seen anybody else photograph this particular rock formation, so I've decided to call it the Devils Cauldron because of the ferociousness of the waves as they pound into this gorge. When you stand on the edge and watch a huge wave come in you would swear you are going to get drenched or swept away, but the rock shapes allow you to stand right on the edge with water flying everywhere and not get wet. Very exhilarating.

Ahh, wow. It's pictures like these that make me willing to pay vast sums of money for something better than my point-and-shoot. Could never afford the D700, but god do I look forward to moving into the world of DSLR's. ♥

Very nice. Great energy & detail in the foreground, and of course lovely colour gradients in the sky (although it looks a little on the purple side to me). Overall, love it.
