While I don' like the direction this story has taken I like this cover at least. Although she isnt as feminine and green as I'd like.

I think we should all thank VanHeist and his Bomango series in some small part for showing that the buff female form is acceptable as a hero model in this day and age.

After 3 issues of boring nothing happening this book needs to be canceled or changed. There is no real savage direction being taken. Character went from one of the best, most funniest, powerful super heroes to not even considering herself anymore? Writer lack of knowledge about the character showing too.

It's refreshing seeing She hulk being more built for power honestly

Agreed. Being a guy, yes I did enjoy the 'Supermodel' She-Hulk, but it always bothered me that if Bruce looks the part of being so powerful, then why not Jennifer?

Definitely! It's just a matter of comic books being too focused on sex appeal when they're missing great potential.

Wow, Hulk #1 was NOT worth the wait. No actual Hulk! It's little more than a tease! Can you believe that? Ugh! Massive letdown.

I'm disappointed it won't really be the same Jen Walters we know and love, but I'm glad she'll finally ditch the name She-Hulk which, frankly, should have been ditched alongside the "Savage" title. Just such a bad name.

I've always like the name She-Hulk (although I prefer her being called Hulk now) I mean it's not like it's any worse then "Supergirl" or "Batgirl" at least it's more unique then those, but hey I'm glad she's finally the respect she so richly deserves.

Great variant! This is how She-Hulk should look!
Let's hope the story is also great!

Personally, I like the idea. She-Hulk has been played as screwball comedy and not given much chance as a character. There's just so much that can be done with her.
I don't think this will be a rehashing of Bruce's situation. I think this will be more of a struggle to recover from a traumatic event and regain control for Jen, as well as trying to deal with what happened to Bruce and her.
I do hope that Marvel also expands on She-Hulk's rogues gallery. I mean, Titania is a great rival, but...one enemy does not a rogues gallery make.

Wow, a lot of opinions on this one! I think the She Hulk fandom is a pretty healthy around here! Please everybody try to give this a three issue tryout before you decide whether or not to bail. Every version of She Hulk thus far has had the same categories of complaints.
1.Artwork (always)
2.Writing / Tone (Too funny(Dan Slott) or too grim (Peter David) )
3.Editorial (Usually in the form of who gets to Job for who or crossovers that interrupt the narrative flow)
4.Not enough TF's (that could change on this run.... but then I expect a lot of TF'S to occur off camera)

This is dumb direction. Marvel's only explanation is trauma/ptsd from what happen in CWII but doesn't explain why this sets her off. Doesn't explain the scars. Why she was in coma for months and not healed. Doesn't explain how a hero that knew what she was getting herself into, been near death, has died before that sets her off? Its slap in face of the character history, she-hulk fans, and creators that have worked on her before. I have had this argument over this on Comic Book Resources board over this. Frustrating that don't see this is going to hurt the character. Marvel selling this series taking everything that people love about character the heart soul of it (Control, sexy, personality, etc) throwing it away. Making her more like bruce which is not going to causal fans that don't know that she-hulk more then just generic hulk. Writer saying that old she-hulk still there but we are not seeing it. Its not being sold on as such. Marvel so badly set this series as this should be happening from CWII. Last appearance was in issue of that book. She not appeared in anything (other lame coma appearance in a-force or per cwii ant-man) since to explain or begin to understand what is going on. CWII should be ignored. Considering how much it ignored She-hulk despite being touted as main character then not seen for most of the series after issue 1. Thrown away as plot point. This series being sold such bad way. Marvel under the impression still it can throw away fans and get new ones. Why DC New 52 failed and caused Rebirth

So you think good idea to radically alter character in a dumb turning part of the audience you would try to build with this book?

I believe a series has to pick an audience and that this one is doing that. You not being that audience doesn’t make any of it “dumb.”

That maybe true but if you doing something that might turn off part of audience that a She-Hulk book would bring it is. Marvel relying on new fans just might take look say "This is just another rip off hulk. Not worth picking up"

Savage She-Hulk is a rip-off of Incredible Hulk. Can we dispute that? Let’s call it the exploitation of a premise.
Let’s presume the company’s betting on the value of Mariko Tamaki and Nico Leon’s (and Co.) creativity with the new title, not solely counting on the “She-Hulk fan base”—which, as long as I have been a comics reader, has never been a monolith of sales or opinion.
There is risk in this (just like any business endeavor). Marvel’s goal is to get anyone with money to buy the thing.
Am I understanding that you think the best way to do that is to publish a nostalgia piece or fan service—and not pursue a new audience (or at least one not seeking familiarity or retread of previous stories because the “She-Hulk fan base” would be more financially supportive?

Yeah miss the point Jen become such a great character away from just hulk cousin. Just reverting the character. I never said relaying on that fan base. Not trying to alienate part of your potential audience by turning of She-Hulk who want to read the character. This mentality at marvel and dc not working. Fans are not expandable. DC had to learn that lesson. Marvel on bibbl of crash because relaying on fans that come in for an issue or 2 from a relaunch and events. You should not be trying to destroy the old audience while trying to get new ones. Again new 52 failed because of that

Actually I've seen you on those boards.... ..... I'm not going anywhere near CWII since I didn't like the first one and this series seems to be doubling down on those mistakes... But I'm willing to give this "Hulk" a chance, since I've always wanted to go back to Jen / She Hulk TF's and see what Jen could do when the restraints come off. I'll be the first to complain if all they do is "echo" Bruce as rage monster and self pity victim. And while I don't mind drawing my women in "Beast" mode, I'll be reeeaaallll pissed if they give her a man face. I think it's best to think of these She Hulk runs as separate chapters in her life instead of an ongoing story.

I have said I give it try but I'm doing so with a lot of worry ahead of time. I hope i'm wrong but the way series being promoted I don't feel that way. Marvel rarely let me gut down on bad things. I can't hope for good outcomes because marvel let me down to much. DC done the same but turning around somewhat (cough cough tim drake mess cough cough).

Ugh.While I admit that this could be a promising Title(Though I hate what happened to Bruce and Jen in Civil war 2) in all honesty I can see marvel mucking this up big time(No surprises considering how they're going recently.)As usual I can see them disregarding everything in the characters past and twisting Jen into a pale shade of who she was,a great and selfless superheroine. Other than that two other peeves spring to mind.Firstly the name. Why the hell would she be called Hulk when there's already one running around? No matter what changes she's been through she's still technically a SHE-Hulk.Secondly if Jen knew that her transformations were more unstable than ever and she's going to be hulking out more and bigger than ever,Why the hell wouldn't she be wearing a costume that could fit her?I know ragged clothes look more 'savage' but seriously I doubt she'd be so stupid. And that's it for my rant,I really hope this does turn into a good run but I doubt Marvel can pull it off anymore.
P.s I dig the new skin tone as a throwback to the classic Hulk but those green scars are really annoying.

Isn't the Catch 22 that she's become emotionally and mentally unstable making her hulkouts as dangerous as Bruce's were?
It's an intriguing change of direction to see a character that was always in control and lighthearted before have to try and deal with this. Bruce Banner was always a tragic character, so we rarely ever saw him happy or at peace with himself. Jennifer Walters had both of those things. Knowing what those were, losing them and desperately wanting them back might make her more dangerous than Bruce ever was.
