I soon to discover that my lens was also the sharpest at f/8. I like this shot, it would be great if you didn't captured the land at the left side. But that would be possible unless you was wearing boots by that time.

Yeah, stopping down past f/8 is still useful, but I tend to shoot at f/8 a lot now that I know f/8 is sharpest.
You are right, it would be cool to have some big rubber waders.
