Definitely my OTP for Mari and my fave ship in the series for sure, Luka's just...very lovable.

One of my ideas was a Miraculous AU with the characters as domestic animals/pets.

Luka is a gentle ball python who wouldn't dare harm Mari and wants to see her as a close friend and companion. Marinette is a small mouse, gentle and optimistic.

Adrien is a bicolor (blonde and black) cat who wants Marinette to himself to play with/overly-jealous, and Kagami is an Akita dog who keeps Adrien in line from causing trouble.

Those sound like nice plausible animals for them.

But for the love of god, Adrien please stay away from the OTP! (His personality in this AU makes sense, I can totally see that. Though Adrienette is still my main NOTP, so I hope Mari stays with Luka) I'm glad Kagami can keep him in line though.

Oh don't worry, Kagami will keep an eye out to make sure he doesn't irk/bother them. Especially given she's protective of Adrien himself.

I mean I damn well understand that the stupid love square is going to be canon, but like... Was it necessary to disrespect the Lukanette shippers? I mean come on! Give us hope then take it all away by making it a point that Mari will always pick Adrien over Luka! If I were Mari, I'd have given up on Adrien the last few hundred times he'd friendzoned me!

Ugh...this is why I'm a fanon person at this point, canon has disappointed so many times, and, I want to be respectful on a series/creator's ideas and such, but, the way they're executed is just awful and saddens me.

I no longer actually respect Miraculous. It was a fun show in the first few seasons, but now? Ugh! I can't tell you how many times it's disappointed me with its messy plotlines. I'm honestly just watching the Luka episodes, I'm NOT even all that active in the fandom aside from my fanon Lukanette.

Yeah, I feel you... Lukanette's actually been my first actual OTP in the fandom ever since Luka's debut, so that's why a break from the ship is just that... a break, NEVER in a million years would I give up on them.
Lukanette's a much healthier relationship than Adrienette could ever be.
