Description
Not widely known is that, prior to switching to Atlas V, X-37B was proposed to fly on several other launchers, including the now-retired Delta II. For D-II, it would have flown without a fairing, but aerodynamic concerns eventually led to it being moved to Atlas and later Falcon, where it could be encapsulated in a 5 meter fairing for ascent
