Description
I chronicled my first ever foray into the scary world of silicone moldmaking. I made a VERY simple mold by most standards for the purpose of practicing with the medium. I'm sure I made some mistakes, but I wanted everyone to know that there's a learning curve to this stuff! The awesome BJD artists on dA didn't just wake up one morning with master-mold-making know-how. They worked hard for it!Please provide constructive criticism if you know more about moldmaking than I, and feel free to ask questions about the process. I'll gladly welcome either.
Thanks for looking.
Tamara
NOTE: The resin I bought is "Off-White" and cures to a lovely ivory color. I think it would make a nice pale skin color for a BJD!
UPDATE: The links in this image go to Aeromarine Product's seller profile on Amazon: [link] and my official website: [link] . The service with Aeromarine is quick. The products are good quality and come with clear, simple instructions. The prices are competitive, too, from what I can tell. Also, thanks to for designing the doll parts on Shapeways and giving me permission to use them as I wish!
