Tree markings are fun!

He has a sort of champagne colour base with black/steel grey markings and mane/tail. Three braid in his mane which are wrapped up in gold ribbon, and the upperhalf of his tail is also braided (a gold ribbon has been braided into it). Stag-like antlers with golden olive leaves caught up in it. There is also a gold chain interwined in his antlers - they got caught there when curiosity got the better of him and he entered a forbidden treasure cove, only to be chased out by some nasty monster (to be honest it was probably just a grumpy stallion, but he exaggerates) - he got caught in some gold chains in his struggle to get out. His eyes and hooves are also gold in colour.
He's a curious, playful creature who seems to take a while to mature. But he's also strong and courageous
