Design commissions for a very best friend CELESTIENE ! <3 I had lots of fun designing this sweet little petal, I love her horn and she looks like a watercolour palette :3I also love designing in sketches because it keeps things simple XD

someday I hope I can design as well as you, ahh! I have so much trouble putting my ideas down for what I want in a design >-< Probably why I'm hosting a contest, but I feel like it would save and make me feel much more proud of my char if i designed it! I think with designing a character, you have to know what personality you're aiming for and let that influence you. I always do a lot of research before finishing designs, I like looking at all kinds of images to get ideas for markings, colours, accessories, everything like that. Then it's just a case of scribbling everything down until you reach something you like! <3

My suggestion is make a pinterest board! It's a great way of storing stuff that inspires you. I have several, one specifically just for designs/markings! And another for accessories. But don't just look at horse images, look at other animals, other art, anything that uses a colour scheme you like. Anything can be a source of inspiration if you look at it right!
