This is Dobran (from "dòbhran", gaelic for "otter") and he's a time travelling pirate. Kinda grumpy, kinda cute, he sails the seas of both the physical realm and the time-travelling realm. The treasure he seeks is anything that ticks or chimes, and the occasional coin to spend on repairing his ever-growing collection. He does have a treasure trovesomewhere filled with all kinds of clocks and time memorabilia, but no one dares go there for fear of going insane from all that persistent tick-tock-ing.
And who knows what the heck that green bandage is all about.
