I have one in my private collection, and let me tell you, almost every time I go out in public, I get a comment from somebody who finds it captivating. And for good reason, too; it is eye-catching but understated, mysterious but communicative.
The clasp is a handcrafted design that has survived from ancient Egyptian times.

Yes, it's a hard question to ask without phrasing it awkwardly--I'd have probably phrased it the same way.
The 'secret cities' are fantasy cities, the ones of the imagination.

How did you start off making them? I love them!

I forget how I first got the idea.... Oh yes. Well, first I had two or three keys and a little lock charm just stuck on a long chain. Then after I'd collected too many to look right on just a chain, I had the idea to put them in between beads.

From every craft and bead store that had one, ebay, etsy, a few cheap accessory shops. Collecting enough for a necklace can take months.
