Awesome? Every time he shows up after the first glimpse on Mars, the only reason he survives is plot-induced stupidity so the bad writing he has can show off how suparduparkewl a ninjuh he is. Why didn't Thane approach with his gun already drawn and ready? Why didn't Shepard put that C-SEC squad car into a spin, or slam the brakes? How did he go from being beaten like a little bitch to owning everyone on Thessia? Why didn't Miranda toss him about like a ragdoll with her biotics or fry that stupid hand shield with an overload? And finally, Why did Shepard, a Space Navy SEAL, neglect to double-tap the rube as he laid there on the floor on Cronus Station? What was so important to do in TIMmay's chair that Shepard turned his/her back on a high-threat enemy that was not verified dead?

If we look that way then Shepard won't survive past ME1.There were countless times when he or anyone else should have been killed but then the game would have ended wouldn't it?As for Kai Leng there were more than enough situations where he survived because the game needed to continue.It is a cheap shot for me from BW the way the bastard killed Thane and it was really stupid decision to make.As I said he is a great antagonist not because of the mad skills nor because he's a space ninja but because everyone hates him.

Is the sole purpose of any other character that survived because of plot contrivances to survive because of plot contrivances? That's Kai Leng's whole existence: surviving because of plot contrivances. No dialog (except for the cheesy mustache-twirling variety, TIMmay does all the Hannibal Lectures), no actual in-game skills that can't prevent him from being beaten like a little bitch (Vanguards have it especially well-off, with the wham-slam-bam charge-nova-shotgun2face combo) which only makes the Thessia incident even more jarring.

I love to hate The Illusive Man and Cerberus in general because he's an antagonist who is a credible-feeling threat, as it should be for a villain. Despite being firmly in the enemy camp, he has a lot of salient points.

I hate the fact that Kai Leng exists at all because he is poorly designed, and belongs in a Ninja Gaiden game, not a Mass Effect game, and because his whole purpose is to be a suparduparkewl "threat", when every time you cross him he survives because of colossal stupidity that the people he crosses should be incapable of. He is a poorly designed, mustache-twirling villain in a game where no one, not even the Reapers, are that comically cut-and-dry in their evil. The only cutscene where he isn't either being mustache-twirling or invincible because of cutscene incompetence is when he strides into view during TIM's declaration of intentions on Mars.

Kai Leng doesn't fit in the game,we don't know much about him,he was introduced in ME3 and we can't learn or speak with him,thus we can't find out something about his character(we can always go on the wiki but there is no google in-game and even there isn't much info either).That's what makes him a shallow character.I don't mind him being a ninja or that he came out of nowhere,he doesn't do much except pissing us off and trying to achieve IM goals which we don't agree with.

Many bosses in the game were far more easier to deal with so what.By the way I never said that he was awesome as you questioned before.

You hate everything about him,I hate that he is shallow and because he doesn't fit perfectly in the game,but other than that he doesn't bothers me.

I think they tied him in with the novels. He was pretty bad ass in the third book.
