Honorable Mention Award in juried show "Small Works" at The Art League [ [link] ], Nov. - Dec. 2008 under the title "Oranges."Pastel on 8"x10" basswood (surface area of basswood where painting was prepared with transparent gesso with pumice) 2008 (Even though this was done with pastel - I consider it a painting, as that is the approach used)

The composition in this one is very compelling and it is beautifully rendered, I particularly like the cool blue accents in the glass and the transparent shadow in the table.

Thank you. Glass is a bit tricky, but mostly if you look carefully, there are little flecks of color and darks that make it look realistic. Barrie
