what is your secret for getting the skin to look so realistic? What colored pencils do you use?

Great work again Brian...as always hehe. How do you get the black so...uh black? and how do you scan your drawings so well? I just can't get it right with mine... so made a pic but that doesn't work either...

Hi , Thanks for your comments For the black I use Faber Castell Pitt Oil Base extra soft black pencils, once I've got the pencil on the paper I go over it with a little turps on a brush to even it out it takes a little time to get it right. With the scan you just have to alter the contrast a little to suit your original drawing. keep it a secret !!!
Hope this helps you,
Regards
Brian

Hey thanks Brian for your quick reply. Not sure what you mean by the Faber Castell Pitt Oil Base. Is it some kind of ink like fluid? Will do a Google search for it too. And then I hope we have it in Holland... lol For the scanner I have tried a lot of different ways to get the right end result but ended up with a pic of it which isn't great as well. If you look at my latest drawing (the wolf) can you give me advice how to improve? Just started working with color pencils recently.
Thanks again for taking the time Brian.
greetings,
Frank
