This is a pretty big emotional point to take an attempt at. I admit, it makes even me a little shaky seeing Murky all limp in Glimmer's grasp like that. Very -very- strong posing and expression for that as the central draw of the piece. I am a little curious what the Ruin is standing on, if I'm honest. His lower body seems to not exist for how tall he is above Murky in the foreground. Perhaps you have a reasoning on it, but I felt it only forthright and honest to mention that I wondered about it.
Protégé's eyepiece being smashed like that is interesting. Did I specify that? It's pretty interesting that you clearly thought something to do it, what was your mind's direction for that? Quite interesting.
Definitely one of the more emotional pictures from MN7 I've seen done yet. I don't say that lightly. Thanks for this ongoing little image series, it's rather incredible seeing it all come to life. (I think I said that already...but eh, I still mean it. I'm always afraid these might sometimes sound recycled but I do genuinelly mean it! )

Meh, the Ruin is standing on his hind legs in this picture, but I tend to fade off the edges of my drawings, so where you'd see his hind legs on the floor would be around where my signature is.
No, you did not specify that. Only it falling. However, in my mind, I immediately saw it shatter as it hit the ground, with Protégé just kind of staring down in shock and despair, as if he doesn't know what to do.
Yeah, Glimmer holding Murky in the center of the image was intended to be the main theme. (Even adding a bit of extra detail on them emphasize) But it was emotional to draw as it was to read, probably resulting in the longer delay of time. (Main inspiration for the pose was from Return of the King movie, where Eomer is despairing over the fallen Eowyn [and I feel you took inspiration from there as well])
There will be MANY more of these to come... I'm not even close to halfway.

Karl Urban's reaction as Eomer may not have been consciously in my mind but I would absolutely say that his acting more than gave concepts and ideas as to how that might have worked. So you're likely right there!
I see what you mean with the Ruin now. Really, it wasn't taking anything away from it, the important part of him was clear and distinct. I was just curious to hear your thoughts on that part of it. Very interesting to hear your thoughts on Protégé as well there. If it's anything like these three, I very much look forward to the others.
