It appears as if Dexter has managed to get himself into another predicament.
The young boy genius created a device he dubbed the ‘Dimensional Quantum Lives Slider’. A device with the purpose to scan the vast multiverse for other dimensions with other Dexters, and then allow him to make a ‘copy’ of that universe onto his own so that he could experience how other versions of him lived, and hopefully manage to go on some interesting adventures in the process, or even learn of newer possibilities.
He also created a ‘backup’ function, so that if he needed to, or if he were in danger, could easily use it to ‘reset’ things back to normal.
And so Dexter tried the device out for the first time, and the result was… less to his satisfaction, for the first dimension that he found himself copying was one in where this particular alternate self was a girl in her late teens named ‘Dexmira’.
In this world, Dexmira was a rather dorky high school girl who operated as a tech-based magical girl who fought against crime and villainous forces. Her younger sister, DeeDee, idolized and looked up to her, and though she didn’t actually have her own laboratory, her father in this dimension was actually a rather competent scientist who worked in his own lab. Though he did seem rather flighty.
Dexter immediately tried to reset the world back to normal, but an unforeseen issue had occurred. The device itself had changed, becoming her ‘fairy familiar’ that inhabited the device. It didn’t want to revert things and go back to just being a simple invention. It liked its newfound sapience, and the chance to explore the world and learn new things.
And so, it’s up to ‘Dexmira’ to try and figure out a way to get things back to how they should be while dealing with the embarrassment of ‘her’ current state and life.
