stared this pic very long time ago (a year? lol xD) and wasn't sure, how ti finish it. Today I came up with idea to add whale. All the sudden picture almost drew by itself.


Idea: The dragon is helping the whale to get out of complex iceberg maze. The whale is crimson whale (beast from my fantasy universe).


I'm very happy for the result, since it was unfinished for so long time xD


Total time: 6-8hours

Refs: a lot. for whale, for ice...

díky na tenhle sem jako na jeden z mála stále hrdá a stále nevím co bych na něm upravila (většinou mě ta hrdost přejde a druhej den bych to předělala )

thanks i actually never read about real case of whale trapped under ice, it just sorta came into my mind, as something, that might happen

Fantasia 2000 is a sequel to Walt Disney's Fantasia, which was released in 1940.  Basically, in both films, several animated segments are set to pieces of classical music that fit the mood of the animation. 


For example, in the original Fantasia, when Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony is played, we are treated to a mythological setting in ancient Greece. 


The "Pines of Rome" segment is one of seven animated segments in Fantasia 2000. In the segment, a baby humpback whale is in a similar situation as the scene you've depicted, only no dragon.  And that's what it reminded me of.
