Description My first hand drawn animation! So of course I used Niki, I've been drawing pictures of her since I was 7 years old when I first got her and she's been my inspiration for alot of my art throughout the years. I'm so happy with how it turned out

Info: 2 seconds long, 24 frames per second which makes 48 frames (48 separate drawings), 11 hours time drawing, probably 2-3 hours putting it all together with scanning and putting it together in sequence (thanks to a classmate who knew how to use flash and was super kind to help out stupid slow me )

So for those of you seeing this character for the first time: This is my actual dog in real life, Niki, but I designed a human character of her to transform into for my *someday* comic book based on all of my pets and myself The theme of this animation in my class was 'change' and we had to draw 2 seconds of animation to relate to that theme, so I thought, why not use one of my characters? I'll have more of a passion for it and actually be motivated to complete it xD For my 'change' I decided to have Niki morph into her character I made of her Enjoy guys, I really hope you love it, I put so much work and heart into this one I'd have to say, not bad for my first!

Thank you, glad to hear it! I really can't wait until I have the time either I pretty much know what I wanna do with it, just need to figure out how I'm going to lay it out, what kinda coloring style I'm going to do (or just leave it plain black and white). Need to estimate how many pages it should turn out to be too, it's going to be a *long* project. Also, thanks so much for the devWatch!! I really appreciate the support and hope my future works continue to please ^^

Haha, rabid fangirls (and boys for that matter! xD) are more than welcome here! I wouldn't mind a little more of it Helps keep me motivated to do more when someone's actually interested in what I'm making and wants to hear my story that I wanna tell and show I'm planning on 'Meet (fill in the name)' comics of each of my characters to help people see what their personalities are like before the real deal ^^ It'll note some of their quirks and oddities, favorite personal items, relationships with the other characters, etc

Thank you! And I'm not all that patient, but I'm a hard worker and like to see my work through, I hate not finishing something. Plus we had to present it to the other students so I wanted everyone to see my best work

Yayyyyyyyy xD Lol seriously, when I have enough talent to draw at the level I do right now but quicker and alot of time, I'm gonna do a 100% pencil short with them together Hopefully something around 1-5 mins... I'd have to figure out how to have them voiced though, I doubt Greg would voice BB for me cause I have no idea how I'd get a hold of him D: Maybe if I had some money... xD

Nah I can do it xD It would be a few hundred drawings for a few minutes but oh well xP I think it's 240 for 10 seconds if you do 24 frames a second? So times that by 6... 1,440 for a minute? Maybe 5 mins is stretching it.. hahaha. I didn't do the math before D: So I guess I could try for a 30 second short... xD

Hahaha, I try, but I'm nearly as good as you lol! I had learnt the basics a few years ago, but I can never draw anything near anyone's level here on DA Anyways, I prefer to write

Well when you compare yourself to others, of course you won't improve xD You have to not care what everyone else's skill level is and just focus on your own I used to feel the same way, like I couldn't compete, but now that I've thrown that out the window, I'm improving, I don't worry about if it's going to come out better than so-and-so's art, I just worry about if it's going to make me satisfied in the end ^_^

Thank you! Yes this was my first shot at it xD Next week I think we're doing walk cycles and stuff I'm definitely going to have way more to come. Just um, if you do it, you really need a passion for whatever it is you're going to animate, if you don't, it'll be veeeeeeeeeery difficult to force yourself to finish it

Well I used a lightbox to trace my first drawing, and slightly altered it with each new frame to make it look like it was moving ^_^ For example, the most obvious change is her head turning around to look at you, then there's also her tail moving and her mouth and when she turns human, her arm/hand moving to rest up on her leg The more drawings you have for your animation, the smoother it will look

Oh, I got ya now Um, I would just say distorting the original character you start off with and making it take on the shape of what you're trying to turn it into.

I'm sorry, I don't know how else to explain it... when I said taking on the shape of what you are turning whatever it is into, I meant like gradually changing the geometric shapes... I guess having a simple enough pose set up for it to be similar before and after the morph... no need to get sarcastic.
