between the two of them? I like this one better. But, I hope you don't mind me saying, I'm not too crazy about it either. I think Herc stands out too much, like, there's no interaction between him and the enviroment.
Just some constructive criticism, but then again, I can't color to save my life, so, what do I know, huh?

I agree ,your colors give the art an actual mood. The" chosen one" feels too comic booky-bright colors just for the sake of having bright colors.

I think I like this one better too.
I presume they chose the other version because you can clearly identify the dead characters, through the colour of their costumes.
Maybe a touch more colour in the costumes on this version would have been a nice compromise.

You colors give it more of an ethereal, other plane type look, but doesn't really say "Hell". That said, your colors look a lot better than just rendering all the characters in their local tones.

I have to agree, these colors give it a stronger sense of the otherworldly. Marvel's colors just make it look like a sunny day, lol.

I like the colors on this version better too. The version in the solicits threw me off and I didn't realize they were supposed to be in Hades, because the colors were normal. This has an other-worldly feel to it that fits a lot better.

I like your colors better too. Dave, this is a smooth cover mate, really nice finish too. (Really wishes they went with these colors, nice mood to the whole thing and all.)
