Description
When I was younger (ages ago), I had a poster of a pair of feet, standing on the tips of her toes and wearing those satin ballet shoes.Nowadays I know that position is called En Pointe, and the shoes are called Pointe shoes. I think, don't nail me down on it.
But I wanted a pic like this for a while now....
Set the scene up in Poser , then rendered it in Vue, cuz that can render bigger resolutions.

I don't really like how the feet rest inside the pointe shoes BTW you made them wrong.

its okay, but the shoes are completely wrong I take pointe and even though its false for dancing I like how you did them!

Thak you
Well, this is an older pic (and not that I have learned anything about pointe in the meantime...), and I might redo this one day with better attention to the details and so *s*

Yes, it is called En Pointe - it's french. "e" is often pronounced "ah" as in Tendu (Tahn-doo) and Battement (Baht-mahnt)
Your shoes are way off, though. If they covered so little of the foot, there's no way they'd survive the rigors of pointe. They die so quickly as it is...

Thank you *s*
And yes, I noticed that, and seeing as this is a way old image I might redo that one in the future, too.

Nice but the shoes look sort of like paper. Besdie that little fact its beautiful. And they do hurt, badly. But its fun. Its actually more the ankles than the toes that you have to worry bout breaking... lol dance junkie here. Beautiful pic!

I used a pre-done pose, and since I'm not a dancer myself, I assumed it was a correct stance *L* thanks for the comment !

OMG! I did one almost exactly like this for a design project in school! We had to make a poster for a dance company and I used the legs/feet in this position as the exclamation point (was the whole picture) the "dot" was the word " dance" shaped like a dot! How cool is that!

that's a great idea for a poster! *nodnod* who says everything has to be complicated, when simple'll do just perfectly?

its a wonderful render. i really love it. but the shadows are quite strange and i would like them more if they were a bit more soft.

I might have to work on those shadows agen, then. *nod* Maybe I'll redo this in the neat future (when I'm done with stealing time, or something like this *L*)

It's very smooth, delicate, and traditional. I love the lighting and reflection on the floor.
What program did you use for this?

brokenangel In reply to smoothassilk [2003-09-24 07:10:49 +0000 UTC]
thanks for the nice comment *s*
I've set up the scene in Poser, then took it over to Vue d'Esprit, changed the floor's reflection and added more light...then rendered it. for a few hours.

Sweet creation, I love the tones of the ballet slippers and her skin, nice reflections as well, you've really done a wonderful job in creating this beautiful piece.
I had a poster of ballet slippers with burgundy legwarmers, I loved it so much, still do, but don't have it hanging any longer.
