Grotesque seems to show up as soon as a group of Grotesque Knights appears to attack. But not only him is with them. There is also a mechanical looking Grotesque Knight named "Bizarre".

Often Grotesque seems to assist "Masquerade", who is kinda like the operator. Besides their General Ludicrous, Bizarre, Masquerade and some yet to be announced other ones, Grotesque seems never to talk.

In my story Forlorn Knights, the Grotesque Knights are one dangerous threat to Thyranrayr (the place the story is happening) besides other dark entities. But whatever happens, they always seem to be linked to any danger at all.


This is the ranklist of the Grotesque Knights:


1st rank (general) : Ludicrous

2nd rank (commanders/operators): Masquerade, Grotesque, Bizarre, Hollow, ...

3rd rank: All Grotesque Knights from type 1 to 6

They have some secret weapons as well... can't wait to work everything out.

Edit: I did a majorstep today. And just like I once mentioned in my journal: This time my gallery won't fill as quick as the recent years with new images. This year I want to spend time and effort on each image to improve the efficiency of my training.

Edit 2: A little step while figuring out more traditional painting techniques. I found great stuff to practice with and it will be quite useful for more client work.

Edit 3: Done for now.

Oh well, the names of the Grotesque Knights have a far deeper sense than it might be expected. General Ludicrous, being able to talk, is often mentioning things like "Friendship, trust, how ludicrous, soon one might learn that these things do not exist in this world." And "Bizarre" finds things entertaining and bizarre... The Grotesque Knight named "Hollow" is thinking about a lot of things being... well, hollow.

When more backstories and events are revealed at the end of the whole story, one will notice that there is a lot of, let me say, "sideways screwed" stuff going on.

Ah clever clever. I love the witty fitting their names! If ye haven't noticed yet, I am rooting for the grotesque knights. xD 
They just seems so badass and fun! 
I am definitely more interested in Bizarre now.

Oh yes I noticed your biggest interest going towards the Grotesque Knights. For me this is a great compliment, as the Grotesque Knights are a special character class in the story, whereas other character-classes (Onihoekkr/Camelgoatpeople, Mizaakari/Snakepeople, Pelicanpeople, Elves, Humans, Dragons, etc.) are more the common population on the continent named Thyranrayr. However, I am always happy if one is interested in any detail or character, as they are all part of the story that is going on.
As for the Grotesque Knights I can tell that they are no common enemy and will play a constant role throughout the whole Forlorn Knights story. So something that might make you staying interested in the whole project.

Also, my development went a lot further so that I have a prequel and a sequel in my mind. All three mainstories (prequel, Forlorn Knights, sequel) as well as some other new ideas will be put into a superordinate storyline I name "Destined To Reign". Just so you know, there is a lot of background-information coming to life. Even though that Forlorn Knights won't cover every single bit, there is a lot of material left for related stories. I think that I will be done with the rough plot for the first half this year, so I can continue typing the manuscript-chapters. Hopefully I can translate them to English soon enough.

As for the development blog, I still need to gather enough information that won't spoil things. Then I can share the link with you and it will be in English as well. I'll see how many people are interested, but if it's one person it's worth the effort.

Bizarre is a cool one, I like how he's acting so far. While watching through my stack of old sketches, I have found a 7th type of a Grotesque Knight. So maybe I find some yet unused space in my plot to use that idea instead of tossing it into my "unused ideas" file...

Oh wow I don't think I've seen such combo races like the Onihoekkr and especially the pelican people! xD That'll be a fun design to see. 
I can see the Grotesque Knights badassery levels rising....xD 

Spoils are tough to prevent. Unless it's loot, then it's super great!

Ah! I definitely want to see the seventh! Even if not used it'd be super cool to see what seventh would look like! 

Wonder ishkabibble rambles: If seventh does get used in the story, considering possible theme 7 would make him some type of luck character. Possibly a traitor turning good and siding with protagonists sorta like the the main character's lucky 7 thing. Maybe a gambling type of guy. Or a secret boss!

It's alright . Well, the Grotesque Knights from Type 1 - 6 are also being called "demonic knights" by those who encountered them. They have no mindset at all. Type 7 was a concept of a very, very bulky one as far as I can remember. From Type 7 (that had no number at that point) I created the actual Type 6. So Type 7 has been lost in a file for quite some time, but when I found that old idea I thought there might be some use for it. The Pelicanpeople should be fun, they live in the Arctic Plains. There are also Seal/Walruspeople.

The Grotesque Knights have at least two secret weapons. They named one of the two weapons "Gross".
