Small study painting done today,ΒRoughly 5 - 6 hours

These are all so incredible! How long does it take you to complete a piece on average, from start to finish? Say one with full backgrounds included

Hi, thank you and it's hard to say really, it depends on the size and complexity and if there is any problem solving involved in making it look right but on average I usually ask for 6 weeks when taking on a commission. That gives me time for drying between layers and working on other paintings at the same time - I very rarely work on one piece at any particular moment. Right now I have 11 on the go

I love this as a composition. The color really pops amidst the pseudo-monochromatic scene. That and her pose really draws the viewer in.

Thank you, I've definitely been considering painting it properly. This study sits on my desk while I work so it's probably just a matter of time before I decide to paint it again in more detail
