Just taken with my phone so the photo isn't the best, but here is a little sneak peek at some smaller works I've started for my upcoming show in June,The full painting is only 30 x 30cm

Such incredible and beautiful detail (as always). How long does a small area like this take you?
I just started painting last year but I find myself so lazy when it comes to detail. I hope it will improve with experience and confidence.

That blanket itself took one session (so about 7 hours) not including a very rough tonal coat underneath.
And the painting on a whole so far has had 4 or 5 sessions, next I'll work on refining that bed sheet and pillows, then I'll go back to the figure, then fine tune the whole painting together. I have 3 of these little ones on the go right now.
It's definitely a matter of time and experience, I find that each painting I do, I push myself that little bit more, I don't notice at the time, but after looking back on 8 years or so of painting you can really see the difference with each series
