Ray Lin is a writer for several popular newspapers while currently majoring in journalism in college. He once was able to meet Mona Unshondra and interviewed her for an article; even since that day, she inspired Ray to be barefoot 24/7 as well. Ray's college and coworkers are totally fine with Ray barefooting all the time; his coworkers even bought him a footstool and matching headphones, as a birthday gift, while he writes articles. When he is not writing articles or studying, Ray solves crossword puzzles and performs spoken word poetry at open mics.

He was given the nickname "Ling" from a female Indonesian tourist who visited one of the newspaper companies he works at. She said Ray's name sounded Asian (even though he's African-American) so she thought it would be cute to give a proper Asian nickname, so she wrote on a small note card "铃", which is Chinese for "bell" or "chime". She chose it because it reminds her of a cat she has back in Indonesia and her cat has a little bell on its collar and even named her cat "Chime". Ever since that day, he kept the nickname "Ling" and even the small note card the girl wrote for him as a memory.

Likes: Headphones, poetry, photography, journalism, barefooting 24/7, Rubik's cubes, and crossword puzzles.

Dislikes: Violence, social studies, shoes, mythology, political science, and racism.
