Description
Since I am a Resident of South Carolina, I decided to do a cryptozoological reconstruction of what I think that the Lizard Man of Lee County's Ore Swamp would look like.I think that it could be a type of Hybrid of some sort that would have made the being look as it does. I have no idea how such a creature would be made. Mutation? Some sort of strange breeding? Or is it something that is of a completely unknown species?
I took it to look like your everyday lee county alligator or crocodile would.
Well... except for the humanoid arms, theropod legs, the dewlap, the tongue, and the upright posture.

A South Carolina couple woke to find their automobile mauled and bent recently. Local fable has it the Lizard Man of SC, who supposedly terrorized a teenager back in 1988, has returned, and he means business. I read this here: Mauled car might hail the return of the Lizard Man

Scariest thing is that I'm pretty close to were that happened.
Probably a half hour drive.
I saw that teenager's encounter on Monster Quest a year ago, and I must say he's lucky to be alive from what had happened.

The thing nearly bit, and clawed everything off the guys car, and nearly gutted a man once.

lol, it doesn't seem to come around very densely populated areas, so, if you live in a city or large town you're fine. If you live out in the middle of nowhere though...bend over...and kiss your butt goodbye

I can understand what you mean by why would it want to hurt anybody, but like any/most cryptids, the lizard man is basically just an animal. And what do animals do? They kill to eat.
If they run into one of us, and they have an advantage like a poisonous bite, or... hell if it's 20 feet tall even, it will try and kill us, or eat us straight on.
Which isn't a nice thought really.
Scary actually.
That's sort of why people call them monsters I guess.
