This three-part summary took me sooooo long to write!! It includes:

Part 1: Yami Yugi/Atem – Tristan Taylor [link]
Part 2: Seto Kaiba – Maximillion Pegasus
Part 3: Solomon Mutou – Zorc Necrophades [link]

I watched all 180 GX episodes, but episodes 156-180 were not dubbed, so I watched them in Japanese on YouTube. There are numerous GX episodes where original characters from the first two series (Zero and Duel Monsters) either make appearances, are in flashbacks, are mentioned, etc.! Nine originals appear in GX, including Atem/Yami Yugi, Yugi Mutou, Seto Kaiba, Maximillion Pegasus, Solomon Mutou, the Paradox Brothers, Roland (Seto’s right hand man), and Seto’s other employee (Roland’s coworker). They look the same as in DM (Duel Monsters) except Yugi is taller and older. GX takes place about 10 years after DM.

Color Key
Red: The DM character is in the GX episode!
Dark pink: The DM character is in a flashback, which was a scene in Yu-Gi-Oh! DM.
Orange: The DM character is in the memory of Pegasus or a GX character.
Purple: The Zero/DM character is not in the GX episode, but there is something that represents him/her, reminds TV viewers of him/her, and/or (s)he is mentioned.
Blue: At least one of the DM character’s signature duel monsters is shown or a similar looking duel monster is in the GX episode.
Green: The DM character is in a flashback(s) or in a GX character’s memory AND there is something that represents him/her, reminds TV viewers of him/her, and/or (s)he is mentioned.
Brown: The DM character has the same voice actor or a similar voice to a GX character.
