Description Further from the test I posted the other day, I have posted an ipod I modelled in Solidworks and then rendered in 3DMax with Vray.

First attempt at modelling an actual product, I think it looks pretty cool.

I know this is an obvious thing to model but I just modelled what I had in front of me.

a bit different from my normal stuff but have been learning 3dmax at work and came up with this.

3D Max Model [link]

edit: I have gone back and changed the screen for one with better res, and removed some of the pixellation on the back with ps

this is truly an inspiration for me I just bought 3D max and i'm hoping to go into this field of 3D rendering.. does V.ray come sperately? I already have photoshop and I can't make the renders look real enough with good textures

thanks its good to know that something i've done can be inspiring.

in answer to your question vray is a seperate add on to 3dmax but is definately well worth getting as it makes the renders look a lot more real

wow ! that's amazing! I only wish i could master 3d max that much ! tell how many years it took you to be that good? vray is it an independent software? like a render application? thanks heaps for any tips ! Im just a biginner in architecture and i would love heaps to start unsing 3d max but i dont know where to start =S

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Brownus In reply to Chacalxxx [2006-10-20 00:02:10 +0000 UTC]

thanks, I havn't been doing it that long, about 6 months.

Vray is an extra rendering engine you can get that makes the renders a hell of a lot better.

I find that its all in the little details, if you get them right it looks a lot more real.

really nice man, i'd love to render stuff but looks too hard, never seem to find the time to get into it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Brownus In reply to Red-Ninja [2006-06-23 16:10:11 +0000 UTC]

yeah it took a while but as I said weve been doing it at work so was getting paid whilst doing it and it was more fun than what I usually do.

Syretrip [2006-06-23 15:08:48 +0000 UTC]

Shit, nice modelling great materials you used. the only thing i see at a little bad quality is maybe the text on the screen.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Brownus In reply to Syretrip [2006-06-23 16:09:10 +0000 UTC]

thanks

yeah the screen was annoying cos its the only bit thats a picture, but couldnt find a high enough res picture of a screen so I photographd mine, and screens dont really photograph well, which explains the slightly blurry screen.

Brownus In reply to ryman [2006-06-23 13:15:40 +0000 UTC]

yeah i think its just the screen tbh, I need to try and get a better quality map for that.
