I'll have to say that this is probably one of my best "pseudo-realistic" portraits yet, and for the first time in quite a while, I was actually pleased with the outcome. And that's something... Either that or I'm delusional.Anyways, worked on this one for a couple of days, trying to implement some things I've been picking up, different techniques, etc. and it all turned out to be quite challenging, especially painting with practically no lines, trying to use only light and shadow to create boundaries and volume, which is something I don't usually do. And what a pain that was!
So... yeah, it's Mary Jane, the hottest redhead in the world of comics! And you know how stupidly obsessed with redheads I am

P.S.: this is obviously much smaller than the original size, so it probably doesn't do any justice to some of the finer details. Meh...

mary jane and peter dated for a bit but peter was more interested in gwen stacy and found her more mature. she dated his best friend harry osborn for a while before that relationship went sour, due to harry's drug addiction and controlling attitude. although she dated other guys even flash thompson her feelings for peter were still stronger than ever. when gwen stacy died apart of her innocence died with her. she soon felt she needed to grow up and become more concern for others. her and peter became more close and started seeing more of each other. peter felt mary jane was just trying to confort him as a way to cope with gwen's death but little did he realized how much she cared for him. she eventually told him she knew his secret and he was shock to find out she knew before they actually met. she told him of her personal problems and conflicts. it was right then that how more of a complex person mary jane was in peter's eyes and realized they had more in common as he thought. they eventually were married and lived happy with each other. however due to the events of the controversial storyline "one more day" the marriage never happend and ended up just in a long relationship. the couple has broken up but are still good friends but still having strong feeling for each other. mary jane is still a great character no matter how bad writers has made her to be lately. we fans will always remember her as the hot girl from next door who gave the shy little awkard kid from queens a chance at happyness.

her father was a struggling author who berated and abused his family for his bad misfortune. it was then mj began to put on a front like nothing was wrong in her life. she didnt want people or friends to see her in a vulnerable state. she act like a typical party girl diva to attact people away from her personal life and emotions. she is always flirting with guys to get attention away from her problems or make an excuse to leave home when things get rough. she would often visit her aunt anna from queens who treated her kindly and like her self. it is there where she met may parker and a young, shy, awkward, peter parker. although they had not physically met and peter never saw her until his freshman year in college. she saw him a few times before they actually met through a window or somewhere far away. she liked him even back then and rhought he was cute in a nerdy way. however she was hesitant of meeting him becuase he kept to himself alot and acted too mysterious. her fears became more worse when she caught him leaving his house as spidey through a window. she was terrified and also intrested in him at the same time. over the years her aunt and may were trying to set these two up. but ine day they met for the first time quoting her famous intro catchphrase "face it tiger u hit the jackpot". the rest was history.

she is possibly peter's greatest female love interest and biggest suporting character. where as i will always have a place in my heart for gwen mj is just plain awesome and fun not to like. she is a really fun character and definately one of the best things in peter parker's hectic life. she eventually became his wife and companion, although writers felt the need to retcon that out. (one of the reasons marvel get on my damn nerves) mary jane and peter may be the best couple in marvel comics history just as much as reed and sue. mary jane always gives peter the suppoert he needs whether it be physically or mentally. she is always there to lend him a hand in his time of needs. she is very loyal to peter and tries her best to help him if he is feeling down or if he is in some kind of trouble. Athough she is a bit annoyed with his constant habit of risking his life for others as spider-man. at the same time she greatly respects and admires him for that cand knows that is what makes him so special to her. mj has not always been a considerate character though especially in her early days. she was assumed to be kind of airhead and selfish person who only wanted to party all the time. boy how the writers made us especially me feel small for doubting her. mary jane was to born to phillip and madeline watson with older sister gayle. mj didnt always have such a glamorous life especially when it came to family.

personal note: whew! after doing all these fanboy spiderman bios on characters and villians i saved the best for last. i picked this picture of mj to do my fan bio on because 1. this is the most decent pic i can find of her that is not sexist and 2. i really like this drawing totally defines her character. so lets go to it.
mary jane watson parker (when she was married to peter but now just watson) aka "mj" - fanmade birthyear (1987): mary jane watson is possibly the most well-known and famous of all spidey's love interest. some fans would argue she is peter's soul mate or true love intrest. personally i would agree, we've seen peter with other girls and gwen stacy i feel is still his first true love but mj is probally that and even more. i love mary jane!!! seriously whats not to love. she's sexy, beautiful, confident, funny, street smart, loyal,and not bad with a bat either lol (she kicked one of spidey's supervillians with a bat i forget which one but it was so hilarious.)
