Description
I originally did not plan on writing the description, or uploading this here. But, because I truly admire this picture, and that.. well, perhaps it's not wrong to share it, here it is. Respect it? Love me. Please. (This is the sequal to Too Young, a previous digital image)--
Young Fox had been hurt from being told she was too young to love. She went off into the forest where she had hidden times before, a sacred place, a place she shared with her love, her sister, only a few times before. When she arrived, she had hoped to find her sister there.. but could not, and began to cry. She was so confused and frusterated that she began to pull off her own clumps of fur and throw them into the air. But something happened after she did that.
The little clumps of fur turned into light, into tiny foxes, and began to float around in the sky, searching for something. The fur on her tail began to fall off without her pulling it, which caused her to start running around, shaking her tail and body. And then, before her, rose the body of her sister.. her love, who had been hiding and watching, who was now being taken off into the sky by the small foxes. For hours, the young fox danced until there was nothing left of her, where all her fur and skin and bones turned into the spiritual little foxes. It was the only way they could be together. They carried her sister up into the sky, farther and farther, into the sun, moon, and stars.

I really like this piece. The fox is expressive but in a subtle, melancholy way. I love those little flourishes at either corner, too. They remind me of Christian icons... I would only wonder at the focus of color in this piece towards the tail, but really it's quite lovely. I also think the description is a lovely bit a prose -- both poignant and minimalistic.

:] Why thank you (for the favourite!), Christian icons? Most of this image besides the two foxes and the placement of the moon and sun is spontanious.. so the ivy and random grass sticking out of the rocks was just painted and not really thought of. But I'm glad you like it, and speak highly of all the little elements.

Yeah, have you ever seen like the Eastern Orthodox icons or the woodcut prints of Byzantium? Check them out. The style of the sun and moon remind me very much of that. They help give a further spiritual addition I think.

Yeah, I'm not Christian but Christian art is an incredible resource for symbolism and allegory... and beauty, really.

I believe I have to agree on that.. most fine artists have dedicated work to the religion in earlier times.

Beyond just being a fantastic mythic basis for works, and spiritual inspiration it used to be the Catholic church was one of the most reliable art patrons to be found. I've really been appreciating the dense symbolic language of Christian art history ever since I read Riddley Walker. Absolutely the most important book I've ever read. The story of "Eusa" and the "Littl Shyning Man" is a intricate reference to St. Eustace and a vision of Christ. Cool stuff.

Haha, yeah, it's a pretty intimidating body of work, but just from studying classical art you can pick up a lot.

I was always told when i came to writing a stories or a description to anything that your goal in first paragraph is to be able to capture the reader's attention. If you can do that sussceful then you will have their attention through the whole stories or description and they are going to always come back for more.
When you sat down a and came up with the description you put allot of thought into it because right away with first few sentences you were able to capture my attention very well. the emotion and feelings you put for into your writing was very wonderful and very inspiring. It made me feel as if i was the little fox in person, lost scared hurt sad, all the emotions combined into one to produce a very good descrption.
At the end of your descrption I had the over whelming urge to reach my hand out and give her a hug and cry becuase i felt so horrible for her. You were able to take somethng as inncoent as it was ment to be and turn it into something that a reader like me can conect to and feel as if what was happing was real and it was use that was enduring her pain. You did a wonderful job I just want to let you know that your ability to write is very wonderful. I am not sure if my commit can be very constrictive but i just wanted to tell you how impressed i was. I Hope you write more because i would like to see more wrote some day. I can't say it enough but good job with description.
Your art work and drawing skill is very wonderful, you did a very good job at drawing the picture and the coloring was done very well. Your ability to draw and write is very wonderful. Keep up the god work and good luck with anything you do in the future.

Getting a comment like this is rare and beautiful.. even I sometimes don't sit down to really say what I feel.. let me tell you, I feel honored that you wrote this much to me and speak so highly.
Thank you very much, your words are kind and generous.. I never really thought of myself as a good writer because my vocabulary and whatnot is quite limited, and I sometimes mess up my thoughts. For this image, however, it was necessary that I wrote the story along with the picture or else people might not understand what it meant.
It makes me happy to know I touched someone's heart with my artwork :] I can promise you I won't stop writing or drawing or making stories - I get too much enjoyment from it-, and I'm glad someone else does, too.

This image is truely stunning! The description only makes it more so. I love how the image conveys the story without you having to read the text, and also how the sun and moon are placed opposite one another at the top corners of the piece. I like the balance and beauty it creates and the way the foxes are perfect and how the sister fox is being carried by cute, spirit foxes to safty.
To say the least, this picture is absolutely wonderful and it looks as though a lot of time was spent wisely to create it. I hope to see more like this from you soon. Thank you for sharing this with dA!
