Description The extraterrestrials of science fiction has captured our collective imagination. The alien in films, comics, books and video-games served as a metaphor for many things: a mirror in which human nature is reflected and contrasted, a messianic figure which we hope would provide salvation to our Earthly woes; an enemy which symbolizes our fears of our way of life and existence under threat; a premise for examining culture shock from the meeting foreign peoples; a means of speculating on our place in the universe. Until we discover evidence of extraterrestrial life in the future, the alien would remain in fiction as a source of both wonder and horror.

This 1950s B-grade Sci-fi movie style alien monster represents aliens of the latter group. I took cues of his/her/its design from other alien monsters in science fiction, such as the deadly Predators of the "Predator" franchise, or the hideous Mutant from the 1955 Sci-Fi film "This Island Earth", among others.

I don't doubt that, but...to quote the Deadpool trailer, this guy looks like Freddy Kruger face-f***ed a topographical map of Utah!

Case File: TC-3-741A "The Greenvale Monster"

Threat Category: 1

Status: Deceased. (Remains stored ISC Containment Facility 7)

Physical Description: The creature stands at 7 feet and 6 inches tall and weighs in at 752 pounds. It's entire body is covered in thick exoskeleton that is durable enough to resist most conventional firearms even at close range and it's back is covered with several thick spines. It's head is mostly dominated by a pair of large, featureless eyes along with fin-like ears and a collection of tendrils surrounding it's mouth. The eyes possess a bioluminescent quality, glowing green in the dark. Physically, the creature is incredibly strong, demonstrating several feats of strength during it's encounter ISC operatives, such as easily flipping a car with one arm. However, the creature seemed sluggish, unable to move quickly for anything more than in short bursts.

Incident Report: The "Greenvale Monster", as local media named it, was first encountered in 1954 when it's spaceship crashed near Greenvale, Texas on June 4, at approximately 1800 hours. Within two hours of the crash, the creature violently attacked and killed James and Marilyn Conner while they were enjoying an evening stroll. At 2100 hours, Deputy Sheriff Brian Leonard discovered the crash site and reported it to his superiors who subsequently reported it to ISC headquarters in Washington. But shortly thereafter, Leonard was attacked by the creature and killed by a heavy blow to the head.

At 0700 hours, a Science Unit lead by Operative David Young arrived at Greenvale and issued a General Alert, ordering all citizens to remain indoors before securing the crash site. However, Young's unit would not encounter the creature until later that night, but not before the creature had forced it's way into the home of the Mitchell family, killing every member of the family, except for their young son. Young made contact with the creature at 1900 hours while investigating the aftermath of the Mitchell Family attack. Young attempted to communicate with the creature to which it responded with violence, killing two of Young's operatives. Seeing that their current weapons were ineffective against the monster, Young withdrew his unit and returned to their temporary base camp to retrieve the EPB (Energized Particle Beam) cannon they had brought with them. The unit soon encountered the creature again as it attempted to return to it's spaceship. Young made one, final attempt to communicate with the creature. When it didn't respond, Young fired on it with the EPB cannon, burning a hole through it's chest. The creature died shortly thereafter.

To date, no further specimens of the creature have been encountered. There is currently no explanation for where it came from or why it went on it's violent rampage. The creature's spaceship was taken to the ISC Research Center in Dunwich, Massachusetts and thoroughly examined. To see the report on their findings, please see Case File: TC-3-741B

Nicely done! Reads just like a SCP Foundation/Men In Black/X-Files case file. What does ISC stand for, by the way?

International Science Coalition. I made it up on the spot.

I always wanted to do something like this. A sort of reverse SCP organization where instead of horrifying, it's idealistic and everything's like old school-Silver Age weird science stuff and it's run by a bunch of awesome science heroes.

Cool!

And you know, I got myself a few more ideas for aliens from outer space. I might (Emphasis MIGHT) re-purpose/re-design this alien, and your post, for some sort of new series...
