I have told you for sure some months ago, when I actually added u to my devwatch,
that I absolutely adore your work.
And I know you heard it a thousand times from all the other users, but I can't say it often enough:
Your gallery is awesome and fascinating.
Especially your shots from the zone have captured me.
It needs people like you, to make sure that we never forget about such catastrophes.
No matter if we are shocked and stunned about what happend
or just fascinated by the abandoned places and how nature takes it back...that all connects us.
And I'm glad there are photographers like you, that offer us such great shots.
Otherwise some of us would never be able to see things like that.
I hope you don't take me for a bootlicker, that just wants your attention.
No, I just wanted to show u, what it feels, to visit your gallery.
It's always a little adventure.
So keep going like that - I hope you'll never stop!
I hope I'll be able to visit the zone as well in some years,
although I heard that the government forbid the passage to Rossokha, which I really wanted to see.
However...
Can I ask you something? How many times have you been there?
Greetings from Austria,
Iris

well, it's definitely the biggest comment i've received
first of all, thank you.
and i'm thankful to you not only for the compliments, but for being interested and worrying about the tragedy of my nation. unfortunately, there are a lot of individuals in CIS countries, who has forgot about Chernobyl for such short period of time.
i'm happy to know that people around the world know about the 26th of April and that it's something bigger, than a location in COD4 or Stalker, etc.
answering some questions:
well, as far i know, Rassokha isn't included into any program of the guided tour in the Zone. Not sure that it's a good idea to visit it.
i was there twice. we've proverb, that says: God loves trinity, but i'm not sure about visiting it for the 3rd time.
Thank you once again, Iris!

Do these trees just seem to be really tall, or they actually are? did you see any weird nature there? like mutated plants or anything like that o.O?

Brute-ua In reply to ShivaShanti [2009-08-07 20:51:31 +0000 UTC]
well, they're tall. There's no one and nothing (except the wind) that can stop them growing.
Speaking about weird nature - yeah, Przewalski's horses are roaming the Zone free. It's the weirdest what i saw there

Jeez...
You've no idea how jealous of you I am right now. It's been a dream of mine to get into Pripyat for many, many years. There's jus' soemthing about the place that draws me. You've captured the true beauty of this place so easily.
How do you get in? Legally?
Stunning photo, my friend. Really awe insipring work.

Thanks a lot Tom!
speaking about jealous, believe me, i understand you. It wasn't so easy to explore the Zone for me, and it took few years before i succeeded.
It's absolutely legally, there are special tours with guides through parts of the Zone. $100 and u'r inside
Think about it. Pripyat isn't the only city in this area, well... Kiev also has something interesting to see
Thank you very much, i'm glad that photos didn't disappoint you.

Wow!!! $100!! That's amazing!
I'm gonna have to have a hunt then.
Keiv huh? Next time I'm behind the curtain I'll pop over. There and St Petersburg.
One thing I really noticed while in Moscow is that there's so many abandoned buildings jus' on the side of the road! Came across abandoned kindergardens, schools, factories, Everything! So much beauty in abandonment.

Those clouds make the whole image look even more fantastic. It's almost like someone's dragging the clouds away, leaving only wispy remnants.
