Description Of course in my ReBoot Universe, Enterprise doesn't get away. It, like VOY, has undergone some massive changes from the canon series. I'm not sure where it would be called Star trek: Daedalus or Star Trek: To Boldly Go.

Firstly, it is not onboard a NX (Akira rip-off) Class, such a ship never existed. Instead, the action takes place onboard the U.S.S. Daedalus, the first ship of her class and the first in the new United Federation of Planets to operate with an integrated crew. The Daedalus-Class will have a bit of a redesign to make it a more 'modern', but the overall layout and ship is the same. The compact Spartan interiors of the series would remain.

Secondly, things kick off in 2161, a year after the Romulan Wars and mere months after the UFP was founded. The quadrant is set for a long period of recovery following the war, with the Federation being created out of the war time alliances formed. But many of these are tentative at best, as former adversaries must learn to work together. The war had a major impact on the setting and the characters, but DS9 had a war, ENT ReBoot deals with the hardships and work following such a massive conflict.

The Senior Staff:
Commanding Officer - Captain Jonathan "Jon" Archer (Human)
Born and raised in New Zealand, he always knew he wanted to go into space, so did everything he could to get into Earth Starfleet. He saw himself as a pioneer, venturing out into the unknown, but when war broke out he found himself serving as a soldier and proved to be a formidable combatant.

Executive/Chief Science Officer - Sub-Commander T'Pol (Vulcan)
Calm, methodical and logical, she prides herself on her control and focus on her new assignment. Aboard the Daedalus she faces a great deal of resentment and bitterness, as Vulcan refused to engage in direct combat, providing logisitical support and humanitarian aid only, but she doesn't let the crews emotions affect her.

Chief Engineering Officer - Lt. Commander Charles "Trip" Tucker III (Human)
During the Battle of Sol, when the Romulans reached the outer edge of the Sol System, his younger sister was killed in action. As the only family he had, the loss has hit him hard and it is still something he is trying to deal with.

Chief Tactical Officer - Lieutenant Thy'lek th'Shran (Andorian)
Strategist, tactician, warrior, he believes in taking action at the slightest provocation, which often puts him at odds with T'Pol. He harbours a deep distrust of Vulcans, due to their shared history, something he doesn't see changing anytime soon.

Chief Navigation Officer - Lieutenant Ellene (Deltan)
A very feminine and alluring woman, she wears her heart on her sleeve (the polar opposite of T'Pol). Her sensuality and stunning looks belie her great intelligence. Her Oath of Celibacy is on record (a requirement for those of her people who leave Delta IV) and she abides by it, even if she desires otherwise.

Chief Helm Officer - Lieutenant JG Travis Mayweather (Human)
A Boomer who has spent his entire life in space, which he identifies more with than Earth (his time spent planetside at the Academy were difficult for him). He has been to more places than any other human on the crew and already seen quite a bit in his short life, experiences that have left him highly adept at piloting and possessing some great tales to tell.

Chief Communications Officer - Ensign Hoshi Sato (Human)
From a very young age she showed herself to be gifted with languages, speaking eight human ones by the fime she was five, before beinging to pick up on alien languages. She is very much an academic, very smart and well-versed in theory but missing experience. This makes her a little skittish at times, but she is determined to be an officer in Starfleet.

MACO Commander - Major Malcolm Reed (Human)
During the war, he spent more time on the frontlines than anyone else in the MACO or Starfleet. In all that time fighting the Romulans, he lost many friends and soldiers, but he came through the war with surprisingly few injuries. Now he commands the MACO unit onboard the Daedalus, which handles security, but this often puts him at odds with Lieutenant th'Shaan.

Chief Medical Officer - Doctor Phlox (Denobulan)
A wise sage, who is older than he looks, he holds many degrees in medicine, life sciences and psychiatry, so any medical matter the crew need help with he is ready for. His medlab is more like a zoo than a research facility, as he uses the natural healing abilities of animals and plants in his treatments.

How the prequel should have been done.  Well done and good work, though the Federation was created in 2161.

Enterprise was full of continuity errors such as having the Klingons around nearly a century before first contact took place (read the official chronology), Starfleet in existence before it was founded in 2161 (same year as the Federation), and the Enterprise NX-01as the first starship to bear the name (Kirk's ship is actually the first,  with the 1701-E the sixth.
I believe that the Temporal Cold War created an alternate timeline, and any novels or films that reference Enterprise are also set in this new timeline.  This means that there is a true prime universe out there with no NX-01.

One last point;  how can the TOS Defiant be in the Mirror Universe when the Starfleet Corp of Engineers ship USS daVinci retrieved the ship from Interphase in the 24th Century?  Find and read S.C.E Interphase Books 1 & 2 for proof (S.C.E. is canon).

Sorry, but (except one or two VOY novels) not a single of the novels was ever canon. Only the movies and the TV shows (except one VOY episode) are canon.

The S.C.E. novels are Canon since they have done a number of crossovers with both TNG & DS9, and one of the characters is Sonya Gomez, who famously spilt her drink on Picard in the episode that introduced the Borg.  When the books first started there was an interview with the writers behind the idea, and it was confirmed that the adventures of the daVinci ARE canon (Scotty even became head of the S.C.E. until his 'death' aboard the Galaxy-class USS Challenger).  All Star Trek novels are to be considered Canon unless stated otherwise (the Shatner Kirk novels are an exception).
Interphase books 1 & 2 were written as an official sequel to the TOS episode The Tholian Web.

The obvious exception to the rules are anything Enterprise related, and many fans agree with this, as it is they who constantly point out plotholes and continuity errors (like the established fact that the Enterprise 1701 was the first-ever Starfleet vessel to bear the name, the Enterprise-E being the sixth).
For example both the Star Trek Chronology & Encyclopedia state that Starfleet was founded at the same time as the Federation AFTER the Romulan War; first contact with Klingons happened in the early 23rd century; both sides in the Romulan War fought with lasers and nuclear missiles; and the Daedalus-class was launched after Romulan War ended.  Since both books were created using information from the TV shows and films, how can they be wrong?

I don't want to get into any arguments about this, but I can quote what is said in both  Chronology & Encyclopedia, with page numbers if need be.

Sorry, but you are completely wrong. Again, not a single game or novel or sourcebook (like the Star Trek Encyclopedia or Chronology (which BTW are full of mistakes) is canon. The only exceptions were the VOY novels written by Jeri Taylor during her time as showrunner of VOY (and only during that time).

It seems that you confuse official with canon and continuity with canon.

The Star Trek canon does only consists of all twelve movies (including the reboot and TFF) and all six TV shows (including TAS and ENT, the TOS episode "Spock's Brain" and the VOY episode "Threshold"). Everything else is not canon even if it includes canon information. See also: en.memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki…

Hello.  I am writing on the behalf of anno78 who has asked me to check his messages for him.
He is currently in intensive care following a five hour emergency operation to remove two foot of perforated lower intestine.  He is in a critical but stable condition.

I will pass on any messages to him once he is fully awake and in a better condition, and will pass onto you any reply he wants to give.

Not a bad idea, though Reed as a MACO feels a bit weird to me. In the series stepping out from under the family military tradition seemed a big part of his character, well the only part of his character aside from his love for blowing up space debris.

Would be fun to see this series deal with the Klingon Augments, Borg, etc. Just no Xindi please!

Also I would imagine flashbacks to the pre War Era and the 'early days' (covered in canon Enterprise) where Archer, T'Pol, etc only just met and didn't get on.

There would also be a few flashback episodes, looking back at what the crew did in the war and how it shaped them, so you'd see all of them as they were back then.

This series would have no Borg or Klingons of any kind.

As much of a Trekkie as I am, I think both races have been overused. The Borg have been totally declawed by what happened in VOY. The Klingons have been features to some level in every series, to the point where there's not much new you can do with them. I also remember back in the day the original continuity put first contact with the Klingon Empire at 2218.

The Daedalus would deal with other species, such as the Tholians and Orions; but it would be more character driven, dealing with how the people onboard try to learn how to live and work together as a cohesive crew. It wouldn't be about firing phase cannons, or stripping off to their undies, but more about the scars left behind by the bloodiest interstellar conflict in history.

I like these updates, I think it would make for richer stories with a post war quadrant setting for their adventures. And while I liked the look of the NX, the Daedalus class is more historically accurate and Enterprise was rife with accuracy issues. I like the alterations to the crew, except for the Deltan, I like what how she contrasts T'Pol but I'd like to see a Tellarites or maybe a Rigelian. Since we never got to see much of them in other series and like the Andorians were either founding members and the Rigelians have the Vulcan ancestry but perhaps a more human emotional range.

I always thought a post-war era would have much richer stories for ENT, showing the horrors of the conflict without actually showing the fighting. It would give all the characters something to build from--even Mayweather

Looking for another species to add, I did think about a Tellarite female--but what would be the chances of seeing that on screen (she wouldn't be "hot" to look at), though her more adversarial nature would be fun to play with on a ship where everyone is trying to get along. As for Rigellians, my thoughts is that the Beta Rigel System actually has at least half a dozen native species (from the Chelon, to the Vulcanoid, to the pale-skinned seen on ENT, as well as several others). It is densely populated and has a long standing interplanetary alliance, which has seen all of the Rigellians working together for centuries.

I'm a huge Star Trek Fan and Enterprise is my favorite series. I have to say you take on it sound fine but it doesn't sound like Star Trek. Star Trek is at it best went it's anti war. When ever Star Trek do war story they sound like hypocrite.

That's part of the reason that my version wouldn't focus on the war but the aftermath and the effects of it, which would provide rich character fodder, giving them flaws and demons to face further into the series, whilst also focusing on the building of relations between the new Federation members as they try to build the bright future that we all know will come.

But to each their own.

Glad you like it. I was considering making Shran the Navigator, but it leaves the series very male dominated, so had to get another woman in the mix.

Yeah, well done I just fear that Shran would break something evry day ;D

Is the Daedalus in your universe supposed to be the prototype for the warp 7 Engine?

Bry-Sinclair In reply to SpiderTrekfan616 [2012-12-17 07:13:24 +0000 UTC]

Haven't really worked out all the specs yet. But I was thinking that Warp 6 would be her top speed (seeing as the Constitution-Class had a maximum speed of Warp 8, it gives the Starfleet boffins 84 years to achieve another two warp factors).

She would be around 150-160 meters in length, with fifteen decks and a crew complement of up to 230, made up of eight unified governments who formed the Federation (Alpha Centauri, Andor, Delta IV, Denobula Triaxa, Earth, Rigel Coalition, Tellar, Vulcan). Her armament would consist of phase cannons and spatial torpedoes, whilst utilising experimental deflector screens and polarised hull plating for defence.
