Description
In 2376, just a couple of months after the end of the Dominion War, with the former Cardassian Union in total disarray, Starfleet assumed ownership of Empok Nor and reactivated it, acting as a command, supply and repair station for the Task Force assigned to humanitarian aid and defence of the region. Nicknamed Waystation by the initial teams assigned to get the base operational, the name soon stuck as its official designation. Though under Starfleet control, a small contingent of Cardassian personnel was assigned to work with Starfleet to liaise and co-ordinate the vital work needed in the region.
