Great swell, lovely light on the sea and great sky.
I have to wonder, just how close did you get your camera to the water to take this shot?

i think the casing was probably one centimetre from the water.
dangerous i know, but i had my hand resting underneath so i could pull it out if i felt my hand getting wet.

ONE centimetre. I admire your courage, that's pretty brave in a swell like that. Worth it for the shot, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it.
For some of the shots I took in Brazil I waded up to my chest with my camera...and I was pretty uncomfortable with that...and that was with my crappy old camera.

well, the swell isn't as big as it looks. i think the 10mm lens distorts that, which i like.
i never get in the water if the sea isn't relatively calm,.
the only time i've ever really worried is when i took this [link] but even then i wasn't too worried. i think (hope?) i'm quite well coordinated and i try to be very aware of where the water is around me.

That's an amazing shot...I hadn't noticed it in your gallery before. Great colour of water...and of course the curve of the wave is brilliant.
