I can imagine an up-to-date sequel to JAWS in which we learn that these Great Whites we've seen over the years were attacking everyone because some sold-out marine biologist outcast was using frequency technology to control the sharks and seek revenge on Amity Island. You know? Kind of goes to prove it's not the monster that makes the horror, it's the [b]man[/b] that makes the monster that makes the horror.

I have a love/hate relationship with this film. On one hand, I recognize it is a brilliantly-made horror film, definitely a classic. On the other hand, I utterly LOATHE how Jaws utterly demonized real live sharks. It didn't help this movie was played nonstop on Discovery Channel's Shark Week, even though its supposed to EDUCATIONAL. Oy.
As hard as it is for some folks to believe, sharks aren't evil killers. Dangerous? Yes, but better to be left alone or observed in a respectful distance.
