Hm, I was going to say that it looks "washed". As if the salt of the sea has corroded and sapped away any hope or chance of rescue and only left behind this "vibrant dullness."

Well, I had just seen "Rebel without a Cause" and it had a very similar color scheme with the "rainwashed" muted brights with and a slightly foggy lens to show distortion which makes things look worn and in the last mile, sort of like an older Mead Schaeffer painting, so it was something I'd had on my mind.

Glad to contribute positive input.

That is great! Funny, a couple of weeks ago you ask idea for monsters, and I wrote jaws to try my luck lol
guess it was already done a while ago. Great choice of the scene, it's a classic.

Great piece indeed, the shark is very well drawn and actually looks scary while still appearing sort of lifeless as it does in the film (which wasn't a detriment....scarier that way!). Excellent work

Thanks!! I'm glad you noticed!! If you look close I drew the weird wrinkles in the shark's body caused by the mechanical stuff inside the prop. Just to give it that half-real, half-mechanical look it had in the film. That's what makes JAWS himself so cool, is that he looks like every shark but he looks totally unique at the same time.

LOL I love the accuracy to the animatronic. I've always thought it was a great fake shark with the exception of how it's mouth looked when it was open. Greg Nicotero told me that this was because the photograph the effects people were referencing had a weird shadow that suggested it had a mouth far different to what it really looked like.
