So here's something a little different...another "new" character who is not new, and who is related to my previous upload of Manticore's update.

Those've you who have read the lore entries for Manticore and Megabeast may recall mention of Leviathan in those entries, so here she finally is! For those who have not, Leviathan is one of the members of the "Beastiary," a small group of obviously non-human superpowered individuals gathered together by Manticore and named after mythological creatures, for the mutual goal of revenge against human society for ostracization, persecution, and any number of other perceived and legitimate slights and grievances.

When Megabeast originally joined the group as "Behemoth," Leviathan took to him and they made for a good battle couple, especially as both are among the strongest physical beings on the planet; just as Megabeast's battles with Captain Meteor and other high-powered superstrong heroes have been legendary, so too have Leviathan's battles with the likes of Aegis, Columbia, and Kilauea. However, while she possesses immense strength and damage resistance not unlike Megabeast/Behemoth, Leviathan possesses her own tricks, like poisoned barbs and claws, a huge prehensile tail, and amphibious adaptations like super-fast swimming, underwater breathing, and low-light vision.

However, the relationship with Megabeast caused him, and then her, to steadily lose their burning hatred for humanity, resulting in Manticore attempting to snuff it out lest it affect the rest of the group. While he was technically successful, it came at the cost of completely turning Megabeast/Behemoth against him, and when Manticore threatened Leviathan in an attempt to get his wayward minion back in line, a huge fight ensued that ended with Manticore torn to pieces, Behemoth/Megabeast just stopping from utterly destroying the cybernetic horror. However, the damage was done, and Megabeast/Behemoth left, painfully ending his relationship with Leviathan.

Recovering thanks to his advanced self-repair systems, Manticore has attempted to use this incident to make Leviathan hate Behemoth, and while she is very angry with him, she cannot bring herself to hate him, and is beginning to suspect Manticore's involvement in the entire incident. That he is obsessed with revenge for what the former Beastiary member did to him, including tailoring their plans specifically around hurting him and specifically grooming his replacement, Geryon, into a living weapon obsessed with destroying Megabeast, all but confirms this for her, and Leviathan is seriously considering jumping ship. But first, she needs to hear the truth. Meanwhile, while Megabeast has grown into his membership in the Allegiance and a new budding romance with fellow team member Harmonika, he still carries a torch for Leviathan, which may complicate things the next time they meet...

And that's it! As mentioned, despite not having been shared before Leviathan is an older character who has been around for many years now, and I have a few previous versions that I've done of her. And while I quite liked those takes at the times I made them, I've always wanted to revisit her, clean up and update her design, and make her official here. Now we have a face to go with the name I've shared a few times now. I imagine at some point things will boil to a head between her, Megabeast, and Manticore, and she'll probably leave the group. In which case, I have a few ideas of where to go with her...

Anyway, I hope you guys like her, and stay tuned for new and updated characters!
