Description

Well now, it's been a while since I delved into the United Kingdom's finest, so let's get to it!

Meet Red Dragon, Welsh hero and member of the United Kingdom's official national team, the Imperial Knights. Though he possesses superhuman strength, toughness, and even claws in his suit, Red Dragon is most notable as one of the most powerful and skilled pyrokinetics in the world, rivaled only by the likes of Russian heroine Zharova, capable of producing flames at truly unthinkable temperatures and shaping them into a wide array of shapes and forms as constructs, including a gigantic dragon construct of pure fire. This power also extends to heat, to the point where he can control the thermal radiation of his flames enough so that someone standing mere centimeters away would not be able to feel the heat. Thanks to his powers he is also one of the most mobile members who isn't Swiftsure, easily capable of hitting hypersonic flight speeds and more. Thus, generally he is one of the first responding members of the Knights other than Swiftsure or X-Caliber, and usually he's called on for his greater firepower than either of them.

However, he's also notable for his less than pleasant demeanor. At the best of times he's simply stoic, but he is well known for his unpleasant personality that can swing from overseriousness to acidity to outright unkind anger. This makes him one of the less popular members of the Imperial Knights, even amongst their own membership, and Red Dragon has a legendarily well known rivalry with fellow hero Challenger, with multiple fights between them documented. It is to his credit that despite these qualities Red Dragon never lets himself stoop to outright villainy, takes reprimands on the chin without retort, and respects other members like Wrought Iron, Swiftsure, and leader Lionheart. Nevermind that for all these qualities he still places emphasis on protecting people and defending his home country, even though his powerset is very keenly developed toward offensive, destructive uses. That he has these wrinkles and positive qualities is why he is allowed to remain in the group, as those among his allies and in authority know his true value as a hero. Still, he takes psychological evaluations and counseling, just to see if his temperament can be dialed back just a little...

And that's Red Dragon! He's another "white whale" character I'm glad to get off my plate, especially to help further develop the already underdeveloped and utilized Imperial Knights. For a further look at them, check out the other members I've gotten to so far here:
