I imagined Eorlof as being half Nord, half Breton, primarily taking after his mother's ancestry.
Due to his father being a Breton ranger, he was taught many survival skills that he still uses to this day, while his mother was the village butcher, so he learned how to prepare meats from her.
He was gifted his ancestor's longsword when he turned "of age" and shortly went out to make a living doing different bounties.
