All through the house screams echoed. Groans, cries, yells, cusses, it filled the air with certainty. Yet the children and their parents rested easily as if they couldn't hear it at all. Finally a young man came into the room, setting down a blood rod.

"Oh, not on the table sweetheart!" The woman said in a cheerful voice, smiling at her son. "I just cleaned."

"Sorry, I forgot, dear mother!" The son replied, heading to the kitchen to wash it.

"Honey, are the scientist still here?" The man sat up, looking over at the young woman who was currently busying herself by braiding her daughters hair.

"No they left a few minutes ago while you were in the shop fixing the whip, my dearest husband." She cooed as if it was something to shrug off.

"Right, I'll be back in a quick one my love." The man nodded with a grin, getting up and kissing his wife on the cheek before striding down the main hall to a dark room at the end. He creaked the door open, gazing down at the young man that sat chained up in front of him.

The dark haired boy, around 15 years old, slowly raised his head to look at his kidnapper.

"Cheerful as ever I see." He hissed, in obvious pain from the open wounds and bruises all across his body.

"It's such a swell day, young sport!" The man grinned.

"Fuck off!" The young boy spat, spitting on the mans shoe. The man stepped back, shaking his head. "Not nice, not nice." He picked up the whip hanging on the wall and the young boy instantly slunk back, shaking with wide eyes at the sight of the weapon.

"Stop being such a BABY!" The man lurched forward, kicking the boy hard in the stomach. The boy screamed in agony, buckling over and coughing up blood as he groaned. "To think I've been doing you a favor." The man sighed, staring down at the boy.

"You asshole! You are not helping me! I DONT WANT TO BE A DEMON!" He screamed at the man before lowering his head, his shoulders began to shake as he sobbed. He was so broken, he wanted to give up. He'd been locked up for a year now, and if only he knew he'd stay strong for another 2 years before giving in to the beast.

"Oh, Nyx~" The man waved his hand. "You don't listen do you! Punishment for that!" He picked up the whip, raising it and bringing it down hard. Another bloody howl filled the air. "We make you a demon, and then we do tests to make you human again.. just you get to keep the looks of a demon."

Nyx looked up, tears leaking down his face and his eyebrows raised worriedly. "Why?" He cried.

"I'VE ALREADY TOLD YOU!!" The man bellowed, bringing the whip down again. Nyx yanked on the chains, groaning as he tried to get past the searing pain. "Humans aren't versatile, Nyx. We all have the same abilites. We all have the same limits. Think of what amazing abilities could be passed from a demon to a human! That's why we need you. Though, we don't want the demon looks. It's ugly, so you're our little guinea pig." He explained nonchalantly.

"Why me specifically?" Nyx snapped, his temper flaring.

"You've got good blood, good endurance. Your family is highly respected, you come from a line of the most famed demons who've taken human form. We need you."

"So lets abuse the shit out of an innocent teenager hahaha so funny! Life is great! So beautiful! I beat people for a living and then I act so cheerful when IM A CRAZY FUCKING MANIAC!!" Nyx screamed, lurching forward in his chains.

The man lost it, beating at the young boy, using the whip, kicking him, before grabbing a knife and carving an open wound into his chest and pouring salt into it. Nyx shrieked with torment, thrashing around and kicking with his legs in a desperate attempt to shake the much heavier man off. He gave Nyx one last blow to the face before getting up and beginning to leave.

"You.. s-sicken.. me." Nyx growled in between heaving breaths.

"Look at yourself. You're vile, and soon your true self will shine through. You can't hide from who you are forever, Nyx." The man spoke in a mocking ton, bending down in front of the boy.

"I'm vile?! Have you looked in the mirr-"

"Wait until you have cat eyes. Wait until you have a tongue so long you could strangle someone with it. Wait until you're so tall you look like the biggest freak out there. Wait until your canines grow into fangs and everytime you smile people cringe in horror. Then get back to me on who is vile. You're just another, disgusting, demon."

"I am NOT A DEMON AND I DON'T WANT TO BE ONE!!!" Nyx wailed.

"You're right, Nyx, you aren't a demon.. you're more than that." The man stood up, gazing down at the defeated teenager before continuing,

"You are a monster."

So, in Nyx's horse history I said he got caught by ranchers and they abused him and then he like jumped the fence or whatever. That transfers almost exactly over into his human form too so I wanted to do a drawing of it!

He's 15 in this drawing, pretty pale, has a more rounder face than when he grows up, and his hair is tons shaggier. But yeah he's 24 now so this was almost 7 years ago (since he escaped when he was 18).

He still has nightmares about all this though poor bby. <3

I'll eventually draw a human ref for him but I'm lazy ahaha.
