Are you using ink with colored pencil? I noticed colored pencil pops better with ink and doesn't muddy as bad. I've been testing it as of late.

Yup, I use color pencils, though I did use soft pastels as the first layer with this one.
So far, the soft pastel and color pencil combo seems to help me capture the underwater look a bit better...honestly still trying to figure out how to color water
