Be My Valentine 1~ LxLight

I sat there, bored out of my mind.  Ryuuzaki had been staring at that screen for hours now.  I sighed, "Can't we take a day off?"

He looked at me oddly,"Of course not.  Do you not want to catch this third Kira?  ...Is there something you wish to do today?"

I sighed annoyed, "Misa wants me to take her out to the carnival for Valentine's Day."

"That wouldn't be possible since we are bound together...or do you wish for me to come, too?"  He moved forward in his seat.

"No, that's why I want to get rid of the handcuffs."

"You know I can't do that," he said glaring slightly.

"...Fine...I'll see if Misa's willing to settle for this."

Ryuuzaki turned back to the computer.  ...Damn!...so much for trying...

I pulled out my phone and texted Misa, -we have 2 go w/ L- (We Have to go with L/Ryuuzaki).
Misa texted back, -fine *chu*- (chu-kiss)

I sneered at the ending.  She was such a stuck up, brat.  I know she's in love me, but I'm not falling for her!  I sighed again, "So...are we going yet?"

He looked at me with those childish wide eyes.  "We must wear a different type of cuffs in public, since these are too long and unsightly."  He yanked me off my seat and he changed the cuff links to about two inches.  We were ready to go by the time Misa came.

"Light-kun!  How's my little Valentine!?"  She threw her arms around my neck and was obviously expecting a kiss.  I moved away, denying her.

"Shall we go?"

Misa gave a huff. "Okay."

We walked to the carnival, but instead of me and Misa looking like a couple, it looked like Ryuuzaki and I were together.  Why the hell did he make the link so short.  He turned his head in my direction, "Is something wrong, Yagami?"

That's why! He wants to see my reactions more closely...shit... "Nothing's wrong."

Misa stopped at the carnival gates and smiled widely,"Come on, Light-kun!  I want to have fun."

I groaned involuntarily and followed Misa through the gates with Ryuuzaki at my side.

As we walked, he poked my arm,"...you do not seem to be enjoying this...are you?"

I frowned at him. "Not really....she's...stupid."

"Then, why are you lying to her?"

"..."  I stared at him.  If I told him the truth he'd figure out Misa was part of the plan...and if I lied..."I don't love her much."

He seemed very interested now, "Misa says you will get married, though."

"Why not?  Let her live in her own little dream world."

"I usually don't have much of an opinion but...you should not marry without mutual love."

He was right about that.  "...and how should you know so much about this, Ryuuzaki?"

He frowned.  "Because the person I love would never love me back."

"And who is this person?"

"I love you, of course."

I turned bright red and my face went blank.  He took advantage of my state and took my hand in his.  What was this???  I calmed myself down and pushed Ryuuzaki away.   He pouted and I found myself feeling sorry.  Did I have feelings for him?

"...Ryu-"  He cut me off with a kiss and then bashfully looked away.

"Sorry, Light-kun."

I grinned and grabbed his chin. "You don't need to be..."   I kissed him and he kissed back.  As we broke apart, Ryuuzaki smiled and took my hand, again.

"...Will you be my Valentine, Light?"

I pecked his cheek,"Sure."
