Okay, well thank you for that at least. But when it comes to the pictures of myself and babies, I don't understand how that isn't art. That's like telling a photographer that taking self portraits and pictures of other people doesn't relate to art at all.

And again, that is your opinion- everyone has one, And I acknowledge that. But a half-ass'd attempt is far from the truth, and you say it's shameful (again, your opinion). I am just a beginner and I appreciate your input but by saying I lack knowledge when it comes to photography as rude as it is to do so, I appreciate it. But that still does not make up for the fact that you are trying to say that it is not art.

whether or not it is a shallow picture or a picture in general it doesn't matter what it takes on how it looks and matters with the emotion that you put into it, I could look at a picture and tell you how I think the person was feeling while taking the picture. But that would just be my opinion, artistic wise you could simply take a piece of paper and doodle on it a few times and call it art because that's what it is, creative wise it doesn't matter whether it is creative or not just refer back to what I said at the beginning.

I understand that is your opinion, but maybe next time if you feel that way just don't comment on a picture? It may be called "Deviant- Art" but everyone, and I do mean everyone has their own separate opinion of art. With my pictures it is not ruining the site, try going through many more people's photos and you'll find that I am not the only one who does it. while you may think my photos are "shallow & shameful" other people like my pictures. if it would make you happier I can simply remove the photos of me, my friends and my lovely family..

I could simply remove them, but I would hate to give you that satisfaction when I feel in my opinion I am right with everything that I have said. If no one posted dull-shallow pictures of themselves the site would be boring. The only thing I can say, is if you don't want to see my pictures don't look at them. I am 1 in probably over a million people that uses DA, I am doing no harm.

also, you say self photos aren't art. Then what would you call Van Gogh painting a picture of himself? Back then that was their equivalent of photography. So are you arguing that isn't art? It doesn't matter the quality of a photo. Any photo is art. It may not be GOOD art in some cases, but it IS still art. You also have no right to tell someone to remove their photos. Freedom of expression bud, get over it or go home. Sorry.
