Well, I went to KΓΆln and Berlin, for sightseeing, but I also been to beelitz, krampnitz barracks (but had too live early because of the security), the norton factory near kΓΆln and some other place I don't remember right now ^^
why the question, already been to germany?

I've an interest in getting there to explore some time. So I was wondering which bits you'd recommend I've heard good things about the Krampnitz Barracks. thats on my list for sure

Well, I can't say for the barracks as we only visited like two buildings before noticing a security car has came right next to where we were (and so, we went out rapidly).
Beelitz is great but rotting and maybe a bit overdone, but it's really nice to see, though.
There are plenty of factories and abandoned places in germany, I recommend belgium too, especially "les charbonnages du hasard" (look that up on google) and maybe the abandoned university in liège, but there's security everywhere, so that's a hard one...
Forbiddenplaces has a very interesting database of european places, so check that up too
