Why? Because they are doing too much of remaking classic movies. This might be the reason why they didn't appear in Disney's Who Framed Roger Rabbit? What's wrong with you, Warner Brothers? Are trying to get other movie studios in trouble? It's just plain wrong! Roger Rabbit has contacted Bob Iger (CEO of The Walt Disney Company) to sue Tom and Jerry. Tom: oh yeah we do have the rights! Warner Bros. has the rights to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory since 1977! Warner Bros. Also has the rights to the movies Turner Entertainment (our owners) own the rights to since Warner Bros.'s 1996 buyout of Turner Entertainment! Don't sue us, since the Great Toon Act of 1999 was signed into law in 1999!
Jerry: that's right! We're protected under the Great Toon Act of 1999! All lawsuits by real world humans against toons have been illegal for 19 years now! But the other way around, however, is still legal! We filed and out of court lawsuit, against you guys, and won!

Bob Iger: The movie was made in 1988 and was directed by Steven Spielberg. And Disney holds the right to the movie. Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke will be very upset if they found out you did "Tom and Jerry meets Mary Poppins", And we will sue you, Tom and Jerry. And it will cost you a $250,000 fine!
