it was really interesting to make. I was a little reluctant to put the work into it since I was expecting it to be easier. but we essentially made a copy of the stone out of plexi-glass and pressed silver around it into the form, then I pierced it after that. In the end I made it just right so that I could slip the stone and snap it into place.

Well,all that extra work was worth it because it looks like it was an easy fit.LOL. And that's what you want your pieces to look like.
Visualization is a HUGE part of making good art and by looking at that piece one can readily tell you had the whole form looked into your imagination.The shape you came up and ended up cutting is a perfect fit,counter intuitive in it's asymmetry and ultimately profoundly pleasing to the eye...

Labradorite. I bought that cab on Etsy, but you can find it at rock and gem stores pretty easily. It's awesome because it shows the wonderful flashes of blue and green at certain angles, while others are boring and ordinary. They come in a lot of really nice colors as well.
