Description is so that everything doesn't happen at once.- Albert Einstein.

This pendant is made from a whole wind up watch (which sadly does not wind up, but some of the gears do move when your turn the knob), a magnifying glass lens, and some sterling silver for the bezel and chain. The chain is about 17 inches long, and the watch itself is almost one inch in diameter.

I'm thinking about selling it, so I may put it up on my Etsy site soon, and see if I have any luck getting rid of it :]

it's up for sale, price is negotiable. [link]

So... Out of curiousity, how much was the negotiable price for this? Etsy seems to not like my interest on the matter.

In other news... this quite tickled my fancy. It's very beautiful to look at and admire, and I could see losing myself daily in such a piece.

I'd have to maybe dig around for a suitable watch piece, allow you to choose which one you like. I have a handful and they all are uniquely different.

I'm thinking I could probably make another one of these guys for 50 dollars easily, plus perhaps a little for shipping. I sort of gave up on Etsy, but I still have a paypal.

This is what I wish everyone would treat watch movements like, it is almost painful to see what people do with these tiny intricate beautiful mechanisms that took so much skill to design manufacture and assemble. Excellent concept and execution!

I would buy something like this. In fact I probably would buy it if I didn't already have a clockwork pendant.

This is really really good Keep up the good work.

This one is my favorite by far. Would it be possible for this watch to function with the gears showing? I have this image; [link]

Btw, you inspired me to start collecting small metal gears and parts. I don't know what if anything that I could make on my on, but I can always commision you to make something for me.

you know, Rick, I do have some wind up watches that actually work. They're not as pretty as this one, most of the gears are hidden behind plates, but I was thinking about making another pendant out of one, in a similar fashion. They're touchy little watches, so I'd have to have the glass open so you can tap it if you need to.

Awesome! I have a nice little box full of gears that I keep using for new things. And yes, you could

I'm thinking about selling this one as well, so you can keep that in mind.

I believe I may have to cut a faceplate and numbers with a dremel. I was thinking of this watch,I have the money online to but I can't resist asking for more now that I know the smith. Some extra depth would also leave some room for mechanisms.

hm. I'm no watch maker, so I can't really make a watch, but surely, I could try to put something together. How big are you thinking. Also. I won't be able to do anything over the summer, being away from school and all.

There's a metalsmithing class at UAA, I don't know much about it though, but you could check it out.

if you actually got your place in anchorage, you wouldn't be with me at all I'm in Fairbanks. You're welcome to come up here though

Also, they have a stained glass class at that Artworks place in Eagle River near the North Slope restaraunt, I think I'm going to look into that this summer.
