Though you mentioned them in his past bios I never actually noticed the scythe-blades on his back till this and the pic you posted before this one. Hm, they actually look more like reversed dorsal fins to me.

I mean ever since I joined the SW I've seen a lot of people making pics related to it "Well that and the 1 and 2 dollar fight thing" and a ton of your most comical comic strips relating to it as well.

Oh, common. It's a fighting tournament. AFL stands for AngelCrusher's Fighting League.
Artists join with a character to fight other characters. Each artist draws a fight, the fights are judged, and the one deemed the "best fight" wins.
