I honestly don't know what drove me to make this. It's not a commission or an art trade or anything like that. I drew this several months ago when I was bored. I think what I was doing was I had no specific projects at the time and I wanted to invent a character that challenged me to get out of my comfort zone a little more and invent something I wouldn't typically make. And so I made a cutesy little super heroine because I'm self-secure like that.As usual, after I invented her I couldn't help making up powers and a backstory for her.
Her parents are both super heroes and she inherited their powers from them. "Lithia" is a name I came up with as a play off the word "lithium". Her body has the power to absorb and store electrical energy which she can then use to power a rather versatile array of other super abilities.
With enough energy, Lithia can:
Fire electrical discharges
Glow
Fly/Levitate
Become Super Strong
Become Bullet Proof
Travel Super Fast
Cast Electrical Shields
Heal physical wounds (both her own as well as team mates)
Use X-Ray Vision
Detect Electromagnetic Fields
Using any of these powers, however, will drain her power reserves and so Lithia must be careful to always stay as fully charged as possible. Also, being small and young means that she cannot store as much energy as her parents can, and so Lithia must be careful to regulate her power useage. As Lithia gets older she will be able unlock more and more of her potential, but until then she has a lot to learn about being a super hero.

I know that I'm not an artist however I do like this drawing and concept especially since it's 'just you' and not something commissioned. Lithia seems more a preteen although who knows how super hero bodies develop lol. I'm kind of excited over a new super heroine entering the proverbial mix and there is a lot of good that she can do. With both parents supers she had plenty of training & fighting advice.Β
However every super hero there seems to be an equal opposing her and if her foe is older & has more experience poor Lithia may suffer more defeats at first until she gets her sea legs as they say. Still she is a tribute to terrific thinking that's out of the box and your inspiration is second to none in my book. If I may say: "extremely well done, my friend --- KUDOS!"

Okay Nick, I'll leave you alone and don't offer any ideas or manipulations since you sleazy probably thought of them and have to consider which ones to use. I know time is a factor here so you don't have the luxury of just drawing/writing multiple Lithia stories. I'm sorry if I seemed pushy. I was just excited over a new character and thought I'd offer to help anyway I can and since my artistic skills are a 0.003 on the Β infamous 10 Scale the only offer I have is writing.Β

The world always needs heroes, and it's best to start young! Seriously, that "heal wounds" power should come in pretty darn handy. Can she heal somebody recovering from surgery?

Yeah, I guess so. Part of the central theme of Lithia is power management. Her powers are very versatile, but she only has so much energy at a given moment to divide between tasks. The wounds she has the ability to mend depends on the severity of the affliction and the amount of energy she has. Minor wounds don't take that much energy to repair, but more serious injuries take a lot more juice.
I haven't figured out the exact voltage or anything and I don't know all the correct terms pertaining to the subject of electricity and it's measurement, but I would imagine that for something as severe as a missing arm, Lithia would not be capable of storing all the energy needed to regrow it in her body at one time. Meaning that she'd probably have to use all her energy regrowing half the arm, stop to recharge, and then go back to finish the job.
Assuming she has no restraints on time or access to energy, that shouldn't be a big deal. But if it's in the middle of a fight with a villain looming over her, it would be a problem.

I don't know what the hell G-Teddy is talking about, with that comment about this being "Not your best work", because I think this is a great piece! She's definitely different than what you've done before, but if we all stay stagnant with concepts/art/ideas, we never really grow or improve as an artist! I actually would love to see you add her into the Deviant Universe, as it could use some more variety in its characters, and add some youth and fun into the group(by the way, just how old is she?)! I also would like to see what her parents look like at some point in the future, as I am curious as to what their power sets are! I really do hope you give some strong thought as to her joining the D.U., and I look forward to seeing more of her down the road!

I'd say that Lithia looks to be probably around twelve or thirteen. Still a tweenager.
I think what Teddy probably means is that he's not a fan of the subject matter. Which I can understand.
It's a very girly, very pink picture with lots of effort to be cutesy. Certainly something I don't normally make as it's pretty much outside of my own interests. However, I like superhero stuff and I thought it would be a fun challenge to make an unexpected heroine like this.
Really no other plans for this character right now. I probably could've posted this and moved on, but I just couldn't help coming up with some super powers to add to her profile. Not sure I even have enough points to post her as a DU character anyway. I think I kind of used them all up posting all of Diago's villains.

Well, I've actually been playing around with the idea of a super team.

Yeah, I know when you look at her powers list, it looks like a lot, but when you consider the fact that all these powers use up energy and she can only store some much of that energy at one time, so see that she'll have to be careful about regulating her powers and prioritizing when they should be used.
