hi actual intersex person here
a lot of us who are more "visibly" or loudly intersex like to be included in the acronym, actually! and the whole "the intersex community has said-" is, well, not true! because intersex people in general are not a monolith of singular opinion. we're actually quite diverse in what we think and/or feel and the whole discourse concerning intersex folk should be intracommunity ONLY.
and while yes technically it is considered a medical condition medically, a lot of the rhetoric surrounding that is actually what leads to our mutilation. i know you don't mean genuine harm with that comment, but there are many of us who feel... weird about having a whole part of ourselves considered a "condition" rather than a "variation".
i see it similar in a similar vein to the truscum "being trans is a medical condition!" vs people who would rather see it described as an identity for themselves rather than a condition. if that makes sense?

also, i disagree with the sentiment you expressed earlier with the whole "asexual is a modifier" comment. i'm just asexual. what is my asexuality modifying? i won't bring up the whole ace discourse thing in this little intersex education tidbit because i know we won't change each other's minds with that, but i feel like the idea of asexuality ONLY being a modifier is kinda invalidating and wrong.

being intersex is about your body though lol. it isn't something you can change at all. even with being trans you have a choice in changing your body, but being intersex is a bodily condition you're born with. whether or not you like the term, it's true.
you can be cishet and intersex, just like you can be lgbt and intersex. it isn't something that makes you lgbt. just because you feel one way about that, doesn't mean you speak for the whole community. a lot of cishet intersex people specifically are uncomfortable with it.Β

the asexuality modifies the AMOUNT of attraction you feel, not the type. it inherently has nothing to do with being attracted to the same gender in any way. and since people are not systematically persecuted for being ace (please look up and understand this term if you don't know it fully), they do not inherently face any lgbt struggles.

actually outside of our bodies being mutilated without our consent, intersex people CAN have the choice of altering our bodies if we should choose to. so that argument is pretty moot.
i'm not really interested in arguing with someone who regurgitates truscum arguments directed at other identities. you clearly don't have an understanding of intersex folk outside of your bigoted views.

actually, no! asexuality is a modifier. you can be hetero and ace. ace people don't face systematic oppression for being ace, and to be LGBT you need to have same gender attraction (SGA) or you need to be trans. so ace people are not inherently LGBT.
additionally, being upset that somebody didn't draw your sexuality is ridiculous. clearly they were focusing on specific positivity. diverting attention from that is homophobic.

Asexual people have been considered part of the LGBT+ community for decades. Just because you can be a heteroromantic asexual doesn't mean we should exclude asexuality from the community as a whole. Using oppression olympics to justify ace exclusion isn't a great argument, either.
They weren't "upset" or throwing a tantrum. You're projecting. They just calmly said "I woulda liked it if an asexual flag was included in there, but it's okay, it's still a great art piece", there was no diverting of attention, there was no homophobia. You shouldn't throw the word 'homophobia' around if you don't know what it means. There is literally nothing homophobic about that person's comment.

ace people always like to use the whole "oppression olympics" thing to avoid the fact that the LGBT community exists as a means to fight homophobia and transphobia, something that asexuality doesn't face. aces don't face systematic oppression. yeah, it isn't oppression olympics. because ace people don't even qualify.
